hondo ii jazz copy

Sound : 8
when i first got it sound really scratchy
then my guitar pimp Ron Garcia somehow clean the pot with wd 40
this bass would work well rock, blues, but not right tone for jazz
but then I was using two peavey solid state amp so it could be wrong
one of which kurt danielson of Tad was praticing with
he plays fender bass with active pickups I played both side
by side and the hondo thunder over the fender in volume to my suprise
the pickup on the hondo pass may not be stock after i took it
to emerald city guitar and they sort the wiring
(but they didn't fix the pickup so they would fall out)
me and one of the sale people pluged it in and he was amazed
how well it sounded and how hot the pickup were
it has full range of sound from bass to to thin depending
which pickup(s) are switch on and the level of tone slected
it would rather use this bass for studio rather than stage
because it weighs about 10 pound
some buzzing because of lose tuning pegs

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
when i got from goodwill the action was to either to high (or I was)
the fender is easier to play
pickup tend to fall out and hit the string i guess i'll have it fix when there is a need for me to do so
i tried to fix myself and just made things worst
there is some oxidation on at the bridge and the tuning pegs

Reliability/Durability : 9
if the wiring were fixed this bass could withstand playing live
i would replace the tuning peg
the finish is good enough to last another twenty years
the strap button are solid but could be wider to actually
hold the guitar on the stap
i don't know much about neck/truss adjustment
if the wiring and the pickup were fix so they didn't fall out
and i could play part of the gig sitting down i would use this bass
without a backup

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing long enough to know that the only person i can take playing slap bass is Larry Grahm. ( generally don't like slap bass but ilove the funk)if it were stolen i would buy another for the same price no doubt son. it could hold it own with a fender for a third of the cost.
i wish i had a band but i can never stay in one place long enough
something else i'd like to share

G.W. BUSH IS BAD FOR NOT ONLY THE USA BUT THE WORLD VOTE HIM OUT OF OFFICE.
