A lefty made in '76 in Japan. All specs are similar of a 70s 7ender JB. I bought this bass for trade. It wasn't played for a few years (it was on the loft these years) and the fretboard came off the neck. When this was repaired, I played the bass and the accoustic sound and playability made me decide to keep this bass. It has an ash body, painted sunburst, and has a rosewood fretboard with block inlays. The neck is a laminate of 3 pieces of maple. It is heavy (6 kilo's) but I don't bother.

I play different styles and this bass is versatile enough to cover them all. The passive tone control do it's job but because I don't like passive tone controls, it was replaced with a j-retro. The sound is typical for an ash bodied bass. Very crisp, bity.

I bought this bass just a year ago so being a bass neglected for years and a fretboard coming loose non stringed, it had to be set up again. After this, the bass played awesome.

This bass is very solidly constructed. This bass has taken the place of main bass. I never have to adjust the trussrod. Very strange concidering my search for the perfect strings. I would use it on a gig without backup, but I love to swap with my fretless now and then. I concider this one as a stayer.

I never had to use the customer support so I don't know how they are. But concidering the age of this bass, it's no use to use them.

I plat bass for app. 16 or 17 years and this one is probably the best bass I ever owned. Recently I tried a mim 7ender JB and my Ibanez was much better than this bass. These basses are rare, so it's not likely that I can replace it. It has the same quality as an American 7ender, or even better. A Jazz Bass just like a Jazz Bass should sound like.

1973, made in Japan, faithful copy of Fender Jazz bass. Solid body, finished in mahogany sunburst. Detachable long-scale neck with 20 frets. Two Jazz-type pickups with seperate polepieces. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block marker-inlays. Chrome ashtray cover over bridge and bridge pickup. Separate chrome cover over neck pup. Finger grip (thumb rest below strings). Master tone control and two volume controls. Tort pick guard. Mine has a real Fender ashtray, obviously not original. Later versions (by 1976) had natural maple fingerboard with black inlays. Mine came with Dunlop straplocks and a Hiscox LiteFlite case.

I've never played a real Fender Jazz, but I can't imagine them being much better, especially the non-US ones. I play classic rock and the Ibanez is perfect for anything from Chuck Berry through to ZZTop. Great deep growl, especially if you play between the pup covers with the neck pup turned right up. It will do more treble if you want, but I don't generally.

I bought it used, so can't comment about the factory, but there are certainly no problems with it now. The E string rattled a bit, but I raised the bridge saddle just a hair and now it's fine. Neck is slim and easy. I put TI flats on it and can play for hours without stress. Considering it's 30 years old there are just a few knocks here and there, nothing to detract from the looks. It feels quite heavy when you pick it up, but once in playing position it is perfectly balanced and no weight at all. Some people take one or other of the pup covers off, but I find I can manage (with a pick) between the neck and bridge. Any slight inconvenience is worth it for the gorgeous look of all that chrome.

Well, it has lasted 30 years already, so I guess it'll see my playing time out. The Dunlop straplocks are good, every guitar should have them. I would use it without a backup, but I usually take a shortscale EB-3 along for those Cream/Free/Zombies moments.

There's a few Greco/Ibanez copy fans on The Dudepit (http://p219.ezboard.com/bthedudepit) so I was pretty confident this would be good, and it is. These are as good as an MIJ Fender and generally are half the price or less. Considering how good they are, it's surprising they don't hold their value better. Considering the case alone cost 70GBP and is nearly new, I thought this was a good deal - still do - but no one else bid on it (I'm not complaining, it's their loss). I play it through a Sans Amp Bass Driver into a Trace Elliot Series 6 7210H. If you want a Jazz bass and can't afford an American Fender, and if you can find a good 2365B at a fair price, I recommend you to buy it without hesitation.
