Look at my other review of the fretted:

Mine's a 3 tone Sunburst with rosewood fingerboard.

nasal and articulate - super mwah with light gauge roundwounds (i have a light touch and wax the fretboard), the 3 band makes it very versatile

Mine is a 1997 beautifull 4-stringer, called "ATK Series" type of a Ibanez ATK bass with typical 22 frets , beautiful red/orange sunburst finish and standard 3 pole pickup, presented at the german "Musikmesse" in Frankfurt. Saw it, played it and bought it. I've always liked the Fenders and Musicman's so I gave it a try.
Very nice desingn and craftmanship!

Well, I play soul, Funk, Reggae and Pop and this axe does it all.
I use a Gallien Krueger Bass amp and a Hartke 4x10 box.
Very versatile sound, deep boom, funky heights, very percussive and even as full as a Telecaster bass, your fingers will do modeling the sound without too much use of EQ. When recording running through a tube device is the only thing that may help to make the PU sound a, little more vintage (if needed).

After having done a little adjustment to your personal playing style there should be no problem at all.

This has become my favourite session bass. You can instantly play almost every kind of music with that ATK and keep your vintage US babies for recording worx: if you can afford 'em.
I replaced the strap buttons with Schaller strap locks, as on all my other basses, on giggin I use it with no backup but sometimes Q-Tron is great for the beloved, funky Bootsy sound.

I am very happy that I own and play this bass. It is very special to me. I've played a lot of different basses in my lifetime and I am a proud owner of vintage Precision, Jazz and Musicman basses.

This bass was made about 4 years ago. It is fretless but has the lines on it. I has a single pickup that is triple-coil offering several different sounds. The pickup is active so the bass has high, mid, and low adjustments on the bass.

This has great sound for a fretless in this price range. As with any fretless it is best suited for jazzy type music, or anything that's mostly soft and melodic. One dislike I have is that it is very hard to get a decent slap tone, but I've been told that is typical of fretless basses.

The action is pretty good. The fit, well the neck is a little bigger than some other basses I've played, but it's not too bad. It seems like everything was built solidly though.

I pretty much convined that this bass will hold up through anything. I try to take care of her, but there's always some moron to knock her over when she's on the stand or something else equally horrific. She's held up beautifully thought.

This is a great bass, especially for someone who mostly plays fretted and just wants to have a fretless in their arsenol. Also, the lines on it make it an easy learn for someone who's never played fretless. I highly recommend this bass, unfortunately it's out of production, but check around on eBay and some used gear suppliers and find one, I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

This fretless bass is loaded with awesome features. It has a rosewood fingerboard, white fret lines, volume-bass-mid-high knobs, three way tone selector and one big-ass active pickup on the bridge. It has a sunburst color with an unfinished wood colored neck. The bridge is a thru-body type for enhanced sustain. I had to buy a case from Ibanez to fit it.

The sound of this Korean made bass is AWESOME and UNIQUE...... to say the least. It sounds like a cross between Les Claypool's bass(Primus) and Tool / Rage Against the Machine's bass, when the tone selector is set towards the bridge. You can dial in Precision and Jazz Bass fretless sounds with the other two settings. It has a very agressive and punchy sound to it while it retains the fatness of a typical fretless. It sounds phenomenal with slap style techniques as well as pick style playing.

Ibanez sucks at setting up guitars at the factory. I had to lower the action and adjust the intonation. This was easy. This guitar stays in tune for a long period of time........ unlike most Korean-made guitars. The chrome knobs are just like the ones on my Carvin LB75. There were no visible flaws on this bass.

I have played this thing for two years now..... and the only thing that went wrong with it was the input jack. It shorted out. I had to have it replaced. My guitar tech ordered me a better input jack than the one it was stocked with. Watch out! Korean guitar factories cut corners on things like input jacks. That was my only gripe about this bass.

I've been playing bass for over 10 years now. I play through a Carvin R600 stack and also own a 5-string Carvin LB75. I will keep this Ibanez ATK. It looks like a fretted bass until you get about two feet away from it. It has a unique sound that a Fender P or Jazz fretless cannot achieve. I love the lines on the neck. I don't hate anything about it. For the money, this bass is second to none. If you want to step into the world of fretless bass....... the Ibanez ATK 300FL is the way to go.
