I don't know when it was made. Made in Korea. It has 24 frets. 4 knobs: bass boost/cut, mid boost/cut, treble boost/cut, and volume. The reason i bought this bass because it has 5 way pickup selector, so I can get lots of different sounds in just one bass. The pickup is passive, but the active preamp just kicks ass. The active preamp requires 9volt battery. The bridge is damn huge, I can string it top load, or through body. Stringing the B string through body really tightens the tension.

Sound : 10
With 5 way pickup selector, this bass can suit any music style, from jazz, funk, punk, rock, you name it. It has bright sound, i think it is because of the maple neck. I also have Sansamp Bass Driver, just to make the tone warmer and deeper. This bass can imitate tones of Stingray, Marcus Miller Jazz Bass, J Bass, P bass. I'm really happy with the versatility of this bass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
String spacing is narrow, but i'm getting used to it. Other than that, everything seems to be okay. I never adjust the truss rod since i bought it, and never had any fret buzz.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It weighs 4 kg. Im never able to play standing more than 15 minutes. It is so damn heavy!!

I started playing bass since 2002, my first bass is Korean 4 string Washburn XB-102, and i will never sell my first bass eventhough now I already have 5 string bass. I wish the string spacing to be wider, because I'm used to the wide string spacing on 4 string bass.

Smashing all maple neck (the main reason I was attracted to it). Satisfyingly old -school feel and weight. Strangely huge bridge assembly that engulfs the back pickup.
Ugly but in a Bulldog kinda way... You love it cos you feel sorry for it :)
Annoyingly, the ferrules were too small to accomodate the ends of my rotosound strings. How stupid is this? Since when were Rotosound anything other than standard? If a bass can't handle these there's got to be something wrong.

Sound : 3
Sorely disappointed with the sound of this bass. The only 'bassy' tones came from using the neck pickup only which sadly yielded a very dull tone on it's own. Any other positions from the pickup selector switch (nicely retro but severely limiting your tone options) just contributed to a thinner, weedier tone.
Completely hidden in a band situation, whatever the pickup settings.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
This bass was set up well from brand new. Even after putting on new, heavier gauge strings it didn't flinch.
Finish was fine, as you'd expect from a lower-priced bass.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I hardly used this bass before selling it on. I just couldn't work with the tones on offer.
However it was a solidly built machine and I can't imagine it letting someone down on a gig.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 5
This is a solidly built, workhouse of a bass. It would be great for a first instrument or a bedroom player but it just couldn't cut it in a band situation.
A shame as it felt great... perhaps if I'd had more patience with it I would have installed hotter pickups and got rid of that stupid switch.... But as it stands, a Fender man I remain!

I don't think, I need to tell you about its features anymore, as you can read complete feature lists in the other comments. I would say, it's one of the most versatile basses available.

Sound : 10
I play in a band with a wide style range. We play punk, metal, funk. (Ok, i guess, this sounds weird)
Anyway: for every style, I can get the sound I want. I also recorded to CDs with this bass, the engineer liked it. No noise, no fret sounds, etc. I've also played the ATK live many times. No feedback, if I don't want it, no noise. (I use a Boss CS-3, ab Boss ODB-3, a Peavey Firebass with Peavey Cabinets and a SWR750x with Ampeg Cabinets)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I got my bass "directly" from Ibanez. I came to the store an got a parcel.
The strap holder screws needed some tightening but everything else was fine. BTW: the transparent blue finish looks awesome

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass suffered a lot. It fell down some times and it just got some scratches. The strings are great, it was a good decision by Ibanez to get Elixir strings.
You can do whatever you want with this bass, it won't break!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with Ibanez, nothing broke.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 6 years now and have got a MM and a J-Bass. I still use the two, but if I know, it will get rough, I use my ATK (b/c of the money). I prefer the Ibanez, it's more versatile than the other two.

5 string pretty handsome MAPPLE FRETBOARD RULES!!!!lots of different sounds, big bridge+jb neck 5way selector fun bass

Sound : 9
very good, from a musicman to a jazz bass style, and more, I've owned both and am not frustrated with this one, even if the mids are colder, but with my svt3 and ampeg bse 410 cab it sounds huge: maybe I just would'nt recommend it for those who want a traditionnal Warm rock sound: it's quite agressive or very smooth but not really in between (maybe selector instead of blend knob is the reason why)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
well it's very good, other reviewers says not but I can play much lower than with a JB, and abit lower than a MM, without any problem only my vigier or tobias killer had better action. The finish is very good except the head (5 pieces is too much, not really aesthetic) but it's just a detail

Reliability/Durability : 9
seems very well built

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
this bass is really a great value: I would keep it even if I buy again an axe with more "personnality" (read US$$$$$$$)

24 frets, 5 strings, white maple fingerboard,trans-blue finish, string thru body , active EQ , 5 way pickup selector....The ultimate tone Machine! what else do u need in a bass,
you have a 5 way pickup selector and a boost/cut treble, bass and mid knobs and of course a volume knob, the pickups are a humbucker with a split coil summing it up to a hybrid triple coil pickup and to lift the trebles out of this bass there is also a single coil J pickup in the neck possition, giving this bass the Jazzman style configuration..
YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED! deffinatley a 10

Sound : 8
there are hundreds of different tone configurations possible on this bass , using the pickup selector and the activte EQ, u can reach into any style of music, Jazz, Punk, Rock, u can just dial in your tone and play away........ but most of all FUNK, most of the tones of this bass represent FLEA from the Chili Peppers, all thought it is very hard to find the right tone at fist, but after alot of tweaking i finally got a good round tone, and i would say only two of the pickup selector options work with what i play, so i will give soud
an 8 because it takes a while to get a favorite tone out of this bass

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
the finish of the bass is quite nice, Transparent Blue, i would pick that anyday over the sunburst, but the colours have definatley dropped from the older range of these ATK basses which used to have a while colour range, in stead of these crap colours that are avalible.
there was alot of fret buzzing and there still is, but i think the bass has quite heavy gauge strings on it so im gonna get some lighter strings. but the action was ok and the bridge is as solid as a rock,
the only problem i had was a loose jack input but Nevada music put another one in for free, which was nice/...... i will give it an 7
for a good set up but because of the tempery fret buzzing and the jack input i cant give it any higher

Reliability/Durability : 9
This bass is very hard, its sturdy, it takes alot of cleaning to keep it in mint condition and the metal plate around the bridge is hell to clean.... the strap buttons are big so no problems with the strap falling off.... i would use it for gigging all the time its is strong and u feel safe with it, the hardwear is chrome and the tuning is quite stable so its a good bass, 9 for being a good reliable bass

Customer Support : 9
Nevada Music in PORTSMOUTH UK was very helpful, when my guitar was faulty, they fixed it for free and did it while i waited.....
so good for them..... 9

Overall Rating : 10
This bass is a Great all round bass guitar with wide range of tones
amazing VERSITILITY! 5 strings, 5 way pickups selector, Active EQ
you have it all here!

BUY this bass ! if u have it under consideration ? go ahead with it, its brilliant, all your mates will love it,

GET it NOW! I GIVE IT 10 THUMBS UP!

oh by the way,

Greg K from the offspring uses this bass, if it is of any interest to you

This bass was made in 2001 in Corea. Mahogany body with ash top. Maple neck bolt-on with maple fingerboard 24 frets. A single coil neck pick up and M.M style bridge pick up with coil splitter.
active electronics with 4 knob : vol, bass, mid, treb boost and cut. 5 way selector for splitting coil and blend the pick ups.
bridge with strings through body.
A gigbag was offered.

Sound : 8
In buying this bass, I was looking for a slap bass. On that precise point, I'm quite deceptive. Indeed, Ibanez changed the wood of its famous ATK 305 and put some mahogany instaid of ash which was great. The result is a sound less percussive an less "funky". Apart from that, this bass is one of the more versatyle I've ever seen thanks to the pick ups configuration and the five way switch. You can have a P-bass sound with the single coil neck pich up alone or a J-sound with the bridge triple coil pickup. I'm playing in bands in very various style (jazz, rock, blues and funk) and this bass feats everywhere.
The electronics is very quiet even when boosting the treble.
I'm using a Marshall b-150 combo amp and a Korg px3B effect.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The set up was great but it has been done by the guy at the store which sold it to me.
But this is the true problem of this bass : the fret work is very poor like often with the Ibanez made in Corea. There're plenty of buzzes so that it is impossible for me to play as low as I may have liked to.
The finish was perfect, no floors and the transparent blue finish was beautiful.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The hardware seems to be solid, especially the bridge which seems to be build in rock. I guess that is the reason the bass to be so heavy ! The finish, I think will not last a long time since I've owned it now for almost a year and there are already a lot of scratch where my fingers beat when I slap.
Apart from that, the bass gives a good general impression and will survive to live performance !

Customer Support : 5
I had to wait 6 month for the neck to be change !

Overall Rating : 9
like: I realy like its versatility. This bass can sound almost every thing you want !
Its price.

Dislike :
Poor fret work, mahogany instaid of
ash body.
No pick up blend hnob but a selcetor switch so that either you have a pick up or you haven't, no between.
