This is a 2007 model with a 24 fret neck on D & G, active electronics, treble boost, bass boost, rosewood fretboard, quilted maple top, etc. - as noted by other reviewers - ample features to get TERRIFIC and AMAZINGLY variable sounds

Sound : 10
I play mainly 60s and 70s rock, folk and a wee bit of fusion. I play through an SWR SM400S, Goliath III 4X10 4 ohm and an Ampeg 15 with the eq set completely flat. Incredibly robust-yet-bright, full, rich, alert sound. So variable I can go from a thumpy blues motif to showing off with some crisp runs. Really cuts through.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
My luthier made only minor adjustments otherwise it was fine. Very fast neck and easy access to upper register.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass has withstood live shows. The locking strap buttons are a really nice standard feature. Seem like really reliable pots, and this thing's really easy on batteries. I'd never gig anything without a back-up. Why take the risk???

Customer Support : 10
Haven't had an issue so I can't really say. I did lose the manual, though, and found it very easy to print one off the Ibanez site. Very handy indeed.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 42 years. I've a '78 P-bass which I've had for 30 years and (if you promise not to tell my Fender) I think I like the BTB more is most respects - action, sound, look, versatility, variability. Sssssh!

Lots of features, nice controls, great, really fast neck, solid craftsmaship, greta finish...i'm in love with this baby :)

Sound : 10
sounds really cool for my music (har rock/hair metal), can give you the raddest distorsion imagenable (dean markley tube overdrive), sounds better on a 4X10"amp than anything else.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
No fabric flaws at all, but the factory setting's weren't the best, the bridge on E and G were raise to high in my opinion, but that might have been done in the store (the bass came off the wall). gorgeus deep finish (dark red).

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've used on a gig without backup, had no problems, it does the job. It had been hit a couple of times (with anoher guitar), but no damage yet whatsoever :)

Customer Support : No Opinion
havent required it yet(hopefully i never will :: )

a ferfectz ten in moy opinion-cheap, great sounding ad reliable.....it had been used by a friend of mine on a major metalfest (metalcamp) and got great reviews from various pro musicians on the festival :)

i think this is made 2003..35 scale..nice finish..nice thin neck for people like me who ha small hands.active pick ups.came with a hard case from ebay..lots of controls for different sound..comparable to the high ends out there..

Sound : 10
sound is awesome..depending on what kind of sound you prefer..i like blues, jazz and classic rock..this baby does the job...those who complaine that it sounds terrible..CHANGE THE BATTERY!!!it's located on the back..

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
love the finish..set up needs a little adjustment but plays good..nothing too serious..nice pick but consider a bartolini..this baby looks cool than alot of stuff out there

Reliability/Durability : 10
the harware looks reliable..a buddy of mine has a btb model whic he's had for a long time and it's still his no#1 bass on stage.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
i'm a guitar player, thats why i love the thin neck on this..i have a fender and a gibson les paul...if this one is stolen..i'd be choked..they don't make this bass any more..and hard to find on ebay..compare to other basses this bass rocks..looks feel and sound..upgrade to a bart and this will beat any bass out there..i would even buy the btb 1000 if i had the dough..

made 2002 in korea, 4string fretted. 22 on the E and A and 24 on the D and G. it's got a volume, pick up selector, bass boost, treble boost, mid boost and mid e.q. knobs. ibanez active with 18 volt pre-amp. flame top finish with a mono rail bridge. It also comes equiped with a cable lock.

Sound : 10
i play anything from metal to funk and it works for just about all of them. i use it through an ampeg STV-5 pro or a bunch of gallien krueger 2oo1rb heads and then through a wide variety of ampeg, g-k, mesa boogie and swr cabinets. for effects i use a zoom 506 2 , ibanez phat hed, boss bass synth and a boss bass chorus or a boss gt6b bass multi effects. i think it sounds great in and out of the studio. i've used fenders(p-bass jazz), music man, spectors, carlo robelli, warwick, modulus and just about every(exept for the really old ones and feildys) ibanez. The btb serise is is in my top favorite( which includes my warwick dolphine and flea bass)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
action and intonation were alright

Reliability/Durability : 10
neither one of my btb's have let me down ( i have seven)

ive been playing since i was 13. I have an ibanez btb 405,406,510, 1000E,1005E and 1006E,fender american p and jazz basses, musicman sting rays, carlo robelli ubd510, spector ns2000/5, warwick dolphin 5, corvette 4and5's and a thumb5, modulus flea bass and almost all ibanez's. I have the money so i would buy it again if it got stolen. I love it more than the high end stuff.
