2002 model, MIJ. Exceptional featureset, way beyond what I'd expect at this price point. Ash body, 5 piece maple+mahogany neck (bolt on), double truss rod, USA Bartolini Jazz pickups, USA Bartolini active EQ, master volume, blend, and concentric active bass+treble pot. Ibanez "monorail" nicely done in silver satin finish, nice tuners. Neutrik locking input jack! Came strung with Elixirs, nonetheless. Case wasn't included, but this seems to be the case with most Ibanez instruments, even the MIJ models like this one.

Bright, punchy, growls on demand. Awesome slap tone and can be mellowed with the active EQ.

Up to Ibanez Japan's usual high standards. There's a slight anomaly in the wood on the back, but it isn't a finish issue; it's just the piece of wood they used. Well shielded, well made, nice tight neck pocket, even a wood truss rod cover for the truss rods. This was evidently made to be a high end bass, and it shows.

I won't rate this within the first twelve hours of ownership. Try me after a couple of years of thumping on it.

Why didn't Ibanez publish any information on this bass? I'm planning on contacting them to find out.

Exceptional value for dollar, incredibly well built, lots of great tone, light as a feather. Sounds great into my Nemesis NS-210P and my POD XT. This one's a keeper!
