Early 90's full scale bass. These have the rad Jackson rock shape that I love. The body is shaped similar to a P bass but smaller in height. The Concert EX is a P/J pup combo with EMG actives doing the work. Basic controls: volume, blend, tone. This bass has the unique Jackson headstock which could double as a weapon. Love the sharp lines of a Jackson headstock. The maple neck is extremely thin and fast with dot inlay and not the famous shark tooth inlays. This has a decent "heavier than Fender" bridge which is black to match tuners and pups. Tuners are the low profile sealed type.

Jackson is synonymous with ROCK for a reason. This is thier specialty. This bass is a rock bass. Growling, textured, low, tones!
I play mine through a DOD modeling system and then throw the air through an Ampeg head and 410HLF. Boom! Sounds fantastic for a simple, active and affordable bass.

Purchased used in used condition. The neck was awesome and needed no help. The body was scratched and needed a refinish. Here is where Jackson shocked me. There was atleast five heavy coats of laquer paint on this baby. I bought several industrial strippers attempting to remove the factory finish. Nothing even disturbed the paint at all. I ended up having to borrow a hand sander and use extremely course paper on it to get through the paint. It went from black to red with black textured webbing. Looks killer.....

Reliability/Durability : 10
Great reliability so far.

Mine had been altered electronically by previous owner. I wrote to Jackson and asked for a schematic for this model. It was instantly emailed back to me. Hows that for service?

Overall Rating : 10
It's a Jackson! Even if it quit working and was beyond repair, I would have to keep it and hang it on the wall. Why, because Jackson's are too cool and nastalgic (Randy Rhoads) to part with. They also have the greatest to date headstock shape IMO. I have a new condition Fender P bass but find myself playing my Jackson exclusively because of the feel of the extremely thin neck. Awesome find!
