Features : 6
Made in Japan, 4 string, two pickups(J/P), 2 knobs: volume and blend, stock jackson pickups, don't know much about them(more about that later), but they are passive. Came with a hardshell case, allen wrench. I got the cobalt blue finish, and it looks very nice, has lasted for several years, no chips yet.

The body is rather light, the curves and cuts fit me perfectly, it's very comfortable to play standing or sitting.

Sound : 7
This is my first bass, but I like the way it sounds, and so do those I've played it for. Right now I'm playing it through an SWR WM15, usually with no effects. I can get a nice variety of tones that suit my styles well(metal, primus-ish funk, slap) I only wish it had an active EQ.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
It came to me beautifully. I ordered it through musicians friend, and it was basically ready to play right out of the box, just needed to be tuned. Everything is tight, nicely aligned, I was impressed.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It's been VERY reliable thus far. I haven't had to adjust the truss rod once, even though I've used several different guages of strings and tunings. I always like to keep a backup, but I would trust this one if backup was not there.

Customer Support : 1
not very good. I went to the web site to look up the serial number, but that only works for Jacksons made in the US. So, I email them with the info, I get an automated response saying they are busy and will get to emails in the order received... a month later I emailed again, threatening to urge my friends to not buy Jacksons, and they replied, asking to send the serial number(which I had in both emails already).

He gets back in a day, gives the model number and year(97). Then he says it most likely has active electronics(it doesn't). Tells me if I want they can send me a schematic. I ask for it, as well as for more info(pickups, wood, etc...). No response. I ask again a week later. It's been 3 months now, and no more responses. Needless to say I am VERY dissatisfied with the customer support.

Overall Rating : 5
I've been playing, well, slacking for 6 years, really playing for 1 now. If it were stolen, I'd be pissed, but I would probably get something else. It feels great, and sounds decent, but I think I would prefer something with active electronics, and especially something from a company with decent customer support.
