My first solid bass bought from ESE Music in Maidstone UK for ??25 in 1974.
It's 1/2 scale, same shape and size as a regular telecaster cream with a darkwood neck and rose fretboard ply body.
It has two toaster style crome pick ups, a single volume and single tone controls.
The pickups can be switched independently via twin switches.
I've since found out that Jedson actually stands for J.E Dallas and Son who we're Ukelele makers in the 1930's 1940's in the UK
George Formby actually played a Jedson !
They were taken over by Arbiter to become Dallas-Arbiter in the 1960's and the Jedson brand was used to badge japanese imports.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Due to it's very short scale it has a dead sound especially on the E string but has a surprising punchy sound when put through a decent amp.
I use a vintage 120 watt Orange valve amp and 4 x 12
Action, Fit, & Finish

In 1974 cheap basses came with high action and poor finish however it's still going strong with all the origional electronics

Built like a mini tank 33 years later it still gets the odd outing with my band the Fabulous Fezheads
www.Fezheads.com
The only issue I've every had with it is the balance.
The neck being a hardwood and the body plywood means that it's neck heavy

I've been playing for 35 years, Bass, Lead, Mandolin and Accordian
My main basses are a couple of Fenders, I use a P Bass American and vintage 1968 Musicmaster, I also love my Burns Marquee S and my Watkins Rapier.
If my Jedson was stolen I'd certainly keep my eye on ebay for a replacement but I don't think it would be the same
