I don't know where it was made but I think it comes from asia.
Mine has got 4 strings, 21 frets, active controlls, a humbucker pickup, maple neck with maple fingerboard. I don't know wich wood was used for the body but it's no plywood. The bass is very heavy like the original Stingrays. But the body is not cotured, it's like a board shaped like a bassbody. The neck is like a p-bass neck and very good to play. The tuners are not the best... the electronic isn't the best, too...

I play rock and heavy metal and I prefere a gorwling sound. But I think this bass wasn't made for this. A dark sound would be better for it. The bass sounds very hollow.
The active electronic isn't well done. It sounds bad and something is wrong with it. The bass has an much to high output when the volume is turned up. It causes distortion. I changed the Volumepoti, but it doesen't get better.
But the bass isn't noisy, that's great.

The set-up by the factory was ok, but i corrected it and adjusted it to myself. The neck is very comfortable but the body isn't. As i said above there is no conture on it. That makes it uncomfotable to play when I stand. The neck is a little heavy and goes down, but that's ok.

At this point it's well made. I think it can stand much!
I equiped it with Security Locks so it can't loose the Strap when I play. The finish is also very good. It would need muche time to destroy it. Everthing works fine.

All in all it's a nice bass for beginners or for home use.
But you can get better basses for this money.
