Made in the Czech Republic, my home country. The Jolana company does'nt design its guitars, but takes the design from other makers, in this case Fender. The J-Bass is the same shape and size of the Fender precision bass. It's got two pickups, 21 frets, two controls (volume and something), 4 strings (another version has five).

Sound : 10
I play punk and for that, it's great. With a chorus and an overdrive, it makes a perfect harmony. The sound is dark and very deep. Even without effects.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
It's maybe six years old and still in a very good shape. The only thing I've ever done with in was raising the pickups a bit a changing two broken strings and that's all. The only thing I dislike is its color - canary yellow. I always wanted to repaint it, bud then I got used to the color and I didn't care.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It never needed anything to be repaired, refitted, adjusted or changed. I play it as I got it from the shop. Really.

Customer Support : 2
The were very unfrielndly and unhelpful, because all Czechs are.

Made in Slovakia or somewhere there. 20 frets, I think, and 4 strings. There are volume control and the other button doesn't really do anything. I think it's tone. 2 pickups. Body is Jazz style. Has no plate. Neck is thin. I bought it from someone I know and I have no idea where did he get it and what accessories did he get.

Sound : 7
My style is grunge. It's a little too soft and pure I think for grunge but overdrive makes miracles. The sound is more pure when you turn the volume button but the is the volume lower too. Too soft.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion

Reliability/Durability : 8
I've had this bass for about 2 months now and it seems to be reliable. Ofcourse you can't even compare it with Fender or Warwick basses. The strap buttons are solid. I always use my backup bass on gigs because you can never know what can happen.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have no contact with the company.

Overall Rating : 7
I've been playing for a year and a half.
I have another bass too but I have no idea what's the name. It's from the 70-s and I even painted it and have repaired it for too long now.
If it would be stolen I would buy it again. I love the body. I'd love it more if it had a plate.
I compare it with Fender Jazzbass. I chose this one because it's cheap. Nothing to share more.
