I bought this semi-acoustic bass guitar in 1987 in Prague. If I remember clearly I paid about 60,- DM for it. It is a nice looking semi-acoustic bass with 2 pickups and a tone and volume poti. Strange that it took 13 years for me to understand that this instrument is not as bad as I thought over all these years. As I usually play the guitar I never changed the original strings and kept them since 2 weeks ago. Then I decided just to buy a set of the cheapest ones to make a final decicion whether to keep it or sell it. After a few re-adjustments of the neck I played it again and could not believe my ears (and my fingers)

It's not a monster ok. But it has a very destinctive sound. If played un-amplified it is very loud. Played with an amp it has a good and warm sound when the neck pickup or both pickups together are on. The bridge position gives a dry but very singular sound. All together: I decided to keep it. It is an instrument that has it's own character

How can I say? I even have not the slightest idea when it was made...
Reliability/Durability

I guess this bass guitar must be about 20 or 25 years old. It has a few minor scratches and the finish cracks along the fretboard. But all this seems to be of minor importance. All together it is still in a good condition and will be for another 25 years I guess. (Unless my little daughter gets it...)

Well, there a perfect instruments, there are regular ones and there are the collectables. Let's say it's a mixture of all. But with it's own character.
