I bought my Kasuga fretless P-bass in 1976. It was black with a maple fingerboard. Fretless basses were rare then, but the sound was great. Passive P-bass pu`s, tortoise plate. Later, when the maple-fingerboard was worn by round-wound strings, it was replaced by ivory. Tuners were replaced by Schallers, and a bridge-pu was installed. I still use this wery well-sounding bass as a replacement for the upright when travelling by plane.
