From what info i could find on the net i'm guessing
it's from the mid to late 60s.
The K-B2 is a copy of a Gibson EB-3 (SG Bass).
Trans cherry finish 18 ply body with lam maple/rosewood
bound neck with jazz type block postion inlays.
Pretty rough fret job & nut was off but
nothing that wasn't an hard fix.
The neck is slim small & fast!
It is a short scale with zero fret.
It has two large humbuckers that sound amazing!
Two tone & volume controls & has Gibson type 3 way
toggle switch for pickups.
It also has the metal arrows under the Tone & Volume
controls for postions that can be actually used.
My Kay K-B2 has serial numbers below the neck plate
on the heel of the neck & in the heel pocket.
Yeah three sets of serials...Never seen that before.
It was manufactured in Taiwan.
It is a Teisco Kay because it has identical Teisco
EB-120 hardware & electronics.
Which is one of the reasons i wanted it.

Absolutely amazing sound!
My dogs hate it!
Ultra sub lows with very sweet tone!
i'm a thumb-neck position bassist.
It sound & feels like it was a custom just for me.
You want nasty, you got it. Adjust wide open on volume.
You want jazz, pop sound you got that too!
Just move the 3 way toogle switch to position ya want.
It's not a slap bass but i don't pluck or slap.
Great pick or finger bass!
Would suggest The Kay K-B2 for classic or metal rock tones
Action, Fit, & Finish

Bad fret dressing. Bad nut postioning.
Finish is beautiful!
It was a closet classic & set up was frieghtning!
Could of rolled a Hot Wheel between the neck & strings.
It was an easy fix though.
Ash tray bridge cover had made a bad indention in the body
but i fixed that by edging the rim of cover with fish tank air tubing
and now it's secure & doesn't harm the finsih any more.

This bass is so light it's perfect for a cover band bassist.
Stays in tune very well.
Probably would bring a backup because we've not
been out together yet haven't got to see how it
would act when getting crazy with it on stage.

Anyone with any info on these basses please let me know.
No way to trace serials...That company's long gone.

i've been trying to play bass for 30 years.
i prefer the Asian basses from the 60s & 70s
over most all others.
They have this garage mud nasty tone with fullness that
frankly other basses just don't have.
i've owed Fender P '76, Mustang '67, Gibson Ripper '75
Fender Squiers 80s etc but really love the Teisco Harmony's & Kays.
They have a unique sound unlike any other basses i've played.
This Kay K-B2 was made for me.
It's the bass i've been looking for all my bass playin life!
If you find one nab it fast!
Epiphone EBO or EB3 can't touch these!
And the Kay K-B2 doesn't
neck nose dive to the floor when you strap it on.
Nearly perfect balanced bass.
i'll guard it with tooth & nail.
Anyone touching it without permission
will get a tounge lashing like they've never had before.
