This is a drop dead gorgeous 35"scale, single-cut built by Texas builder Bud LeCompte..killer spalted maple top w/matching pickup covers & headstock. Amazingly fast rosewood fingerboard & single-piece maple neck. Has Bartolini 3-band eq and soapbars..What else do you need...?!

Tight, focuses 'B' strings are my sore spot and this is as good as it gets. I've owned Lakland/USA, Alembic, Roscoe, Skjold, Lull, Fender, Ernie Ball, M Bass, Kinal, Modulus,yadayadayada...The SC5 is as good ,or better. Bud did a superb job of pickup/ electronics with matching wood acoustics.. I play Irish festivals so I always go direct and engineers love it! No dead spots....Fat, fat tone....

Right out of the shipping box, I loved it! Set-up was great. Bud is very customer oriented so service is paramount...

Built like a tank. Solidly built,a bit weighty compared to most boutique instruments but that's how I ordered it. Sound's better, in my opinion

Been playing almost 40 years and have owned that many basses and this is as good as any of them. LeCompte basses are a great value. The workmanship, attention to detail and customer service are second-to-none. Check out his website....
