Either Grover or hipshot tuners, don't budge. Great, monstrous bridge. This bass has two split shaft bartoloni pickups that sound great, and are very hot. Wonderful Carvin active eloctronics (I'm pretty sure these are mods though, not origional). Five pots, volume (push/pull, active/passive), balance, high, mid, low. Kind of an ugly cream finish (but then I've never been a fan of white guitars) Poplar body, rock maple neck, wenge fretboard.

I play all sorts of rock, and tons of jazz. Between the active/passive switch, and the three band equalizer, this bass plays them all. I especially love it for classic rock (active), and jazz(passive, except for solos) (I like my bass in jazz a little punchier than many though). This bass is amazingly versatile. When in passive there is a little bit of cylce 60 hum, but nothing terrible, when in active there is virtually no noise.
Action, Fit, & Finish

I bought this bass used, and the setup and action were great. I blame that on the previous owner. He did a very good job. The finish has a few dings and some cracks (as many laquer finishes will eventually recieve). It's cream and ugly, although very retro looking. (I think I already mentioned my feelings on white guitars)
Reliability/Durability

This bass withstands live playing great, and seems like it will last me a long time. I do keep my basses in very good repair, and am careful with them, but this could take a beating. Everything seems like it will last, although I did replace the strap nuts with strap locks. I would also never play it at a gig without a backup, but then again, I try to never play a gig without a backup, I've just seen to much crap happen, even to the best of basses.

I bought this bass used with no warranty, but I did e-mail MTD and ask some questoins when I was looking at it.. Mike Tobias personally e-mailed me back within 24 hours, and was extremely helpful and honest with me. He told me me about the bass in great detial, incuding it's drawbacks. Very customer minded, and very honest.

I would recomend this, or just about any other MTD to almost anyone.
