One of the first Acoustibass with the multilaminated neck (very thin maple veeners glued with epoxi), dating 1996. With two trussroads, it ensures stability and absolute control on your relief, Very important since the set-in neck and ebony/metal bridge do not allow any further set-up. To change action because of a new set of strings I had to use a leaf under the bone, wich is uneasy because of the piezo pick up..
Yes: this is again a magnetic (Manne Jazz type) + piezo axe with vol + balance + passive tone. Active buffer on piezo only.
The instrument, see its name, is intended to offer an acoustic tone also via the chambered one piece alder body with a spruce top.
It is therefore offered fretless only, 24 lined cases on a phenolic fingerboard.
All the bass is finished with a leatherish dark brown, thick varnish.
5 Manne tuner on a row on the stilish Manne pointed head. String through body.

What a pleasure!
Deep and articulate, the simple electronics allow every sound you can expect from a fretless bass, from singing Jazz growl to double-bass very convincing simulations to classic guitar piezo tones.
Add personality and pleasant richness.

Today I set-up the beast with medium low action, but everything can be obtained thanks to the excelent neck stability and perfectly flat fingerboard.
First class craftmanship.

Very reliable. A boutique bass with a working horse aptitude.

You just ring in or drop in a mail and Andrea, Manne owner, will be pleased to help. Great. (of course the high tag price pays for that as well...)

I've been playing for more than 20 years and owned -still owning- a lot of different instruments. This stands for a category on its own which may on some Veilette and Fbass can share (the latter I do not dislike but showed to complex: in an A/B test I went for the Manne because of simplicity as long with outstanding tone)
