Brand new Musicman copy, 2008 model, come to find out it was made in Korea. Has 4 strings, master volume, treble, middle and bass knobs.
Has cheapo crappy active pickup and electronics that are going to be replaced by seymour duncan basslines as soon as I have another $200 bux to put into it.
The top looked nice in the pictures and is okay but not very flamey or bookmatched very well at all. It has a clear pickguard that came with free scratches and a bunch of wood crumbs in behind it like it wasn't cleaned out before the pick guard was put on.
Two of the control cavity screws were already stripped when I got it and another one HAD A BIGGER SCREW put in! Geeeze!
The tuners are horrible and will be the NEXT thing to get replaced when I get ANOTHER $100 bux. They are super cheap and have a bunch of play and don't hold tight at all.
The bass came in a plastic blow-molded Gator case. Like the Music 'Yo cases the Kramers come in.

I play rock guitar and bought this bass to have on hand when I feel like thumping a bass. I've been playing 35 years but just as a hobby.
This bass sounds okay and doesn't have any bad or weird noises. The eq is handy but I think most players use amps for eq and keep the knobs always on 10.

Mojotone supposedly does their own setup before they send out the basses. Mine was WAY out according to my Peterson and I re-did the setup to get it to play right. The frets are pretty small especially for a bass and the fretboard had a bunch of knicks, little dings and scratches in the wood. It also had waaaay too much stain on it and it was coming off and getting all over my fingers! I know most new guitars will have some but this sure seemed way more than usual. The dots are small and are very cheap white plastic.

All the metal hardware is very thin and flimsy. I will be buying replacement bridge and tuners along with all new Seymour Duncan pickups when I have the money. Should be another $400 bux or so before the bass is decent quality.
BOTH the strap buttons were way too small and were also STRIPPED from the factory. Had to put bigger screws in already!

I've ordered lots of guitar cabinets and the like from Mojotone. I had problems with the last cabinet I ordered from them and used their online "help us to improve" form to tell them. I don't remember ever getting a response or anything from them.
I'm not sure of a warranty but after all the hassle and work I'm putting in to this bass I sure don't feel like wrapping it all back up and trying to get them to take it back. Basically, I'm stuck with it.

I thought I was getting a Musicman for $1000 less. What I ended up with is a cheap, poorly put together, flimsy bass in a crappy case. It's going to cost me alot of money to replace the flimsy parts with decent stuff and I wish I had just bought something else instead.
I looked all over for info on these but couldn't find any even on Harmony Central. If I could have found this review I wouldn't have bought it.
So, if you are reading this and thinking of buying one just go ahead and get something else instead and save yourself a huge hassle!
