I fell in love with this guitar the minute I saw it in the store. I bought it in 1992 at the tender age of 14. I still have it. Its currently in use with my friend recording an album. I still love that bass, I gave it a name, still, in fairness, I will be critical. I love the body shape, its always sat perfectly for me (a 5'6" female, I keep it low-slung, it doesn't hit me in the chest and isn't too long a reach for me, it may not work for everyone). The finish on it is a practically indestructible hot pink slightly pearly color, with black accents for everything else. It also has the active pickups.

Sound : No Opinion
OK, It's a very bright sound with some often easily picked up string noise. It would probably sound awesome with a processor, I've never owned one though. It does its part in being deep and bassy, there is still that bright tone over it all. I was always playing simple punk and grunge... so it was weird, because it was so bright and precise. I wanted to get a processor to crunch it up a bit, make it more... gritty. the adjustments for volume and tone are nothing too special.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I haven't noticed anything with this bass being flawed when I first bought it, I haven't had to make any adjustments either. I love the active pickups but i hate remembering to change batteries... a stupid gripe I know. That bass looked beautiful from day one.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I haven't abused her to the point of knowin if I can wear that finish off, but its been a complete tank. When you get something as a 14 year old... you tend to be careful but not as careful as you should. its come through remarkably unscathed. No nicks or dents! (and it has been dropped, propped against stuff and fallen off stages and against amps). It still stays in tune when used regularly and still plays like a dream. The only complaint I have is that the damned knobs for volume/tone don't stay on as well as I'd like them to. the setscrew comes loose and one of the knobs is noticebly absent now. I did however see it randomly around the house recently. If the setscrew is still in it, it can go back on till it decides to fall off again. That is my one and only gripe. Otherwise she's still a gorgeous instrument.

Never had to deal with the company but as it was bought brand new there was a lot of literature with it. since lost, but still available for download online.

Overall Rating : 10
I want to give it a 10. I do. Personally its a 10 to me, because I'm still in love with her all these years later. I had a bass that everyone referred to as a jazz bass, a very very very old school instrument. I never bought a different bass because the B-ninety was a solid investment for me and I've never been good enough to start getting a collection of guitars... I only need one for my purposes. My fave aspects is the perfect shape, the awesome color, and the active pickups. I've always liked that the head of the bass isn't super gigantic... with gigantic tuning pegs... that's just me being vain and not wanting to be dwarfed by my bass.

Late 80's early 90's I'm guessing. 4 String. Black gloss finish. I like the body design. One volume, one tone. PJ passive pickups. This bass can come with active or passive pickups. I have the passive pickup one. Looks like rosewood fretbosrd. Bridge hardware looks like it is good quality. The tuners are okay. The E-string has a replacement tuner. Neck is thick, You might like thick. Everyone is different. Got a Peavy hardcase with it.

Sound : 9
I like this sound. Sounds like the late 80s/early 90s bass that it is. Its bright and has balances out the string pretty good. Sort of a bright sound. Not much variety in the sound with one volume, one tone control.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
I got this bass on an auction site on the internet. This bass has seen better days. The action was terrible. I tried adjusting it and did major truss rod adjustments and tried to adjust the string height over a period of several days before I took it into the shop to get it setup. The guy at the music shop worked wonders on it. Some of the frets are worn badly. The neck is thick. The guy at the store started playing it and said he really liked how the bass plays. Too thick for my hands though. Different tastes. Many dings in the body, I put neck hydrate stuff on the neck to polish the fretboard. This bass was a nice bass at one time. Its been played alot and has really worn frets that maked a thick, nothing noise when played. I paid too much for a bass in this condition. Good brand, Made in Usa, Good model of bass, just that this particular bass is in poor condition.

Reliability/Durability : 4
Havent played live with it. I've played it a couple of times just practicing and seeing if I like it. If the bass was in better condion I would gig with it, without a backup. It does have a replacement appropriate tuner for the E string, so one of the tuners didnt last. Badly worn frets. Dings all over the body. Strap buttons are generic strap buttons that just hold the strap on. Nothing special. I did major truss rod adjustment. The strings were way high when the bass was delivered. I wouldnt have paid ten bucks for this bass if a saw this one in person. Everyone is prone to bad deals every once in a while, no biggie. That is just with this one particular bass, because of its condition.

Havent dealt with the company. Got it used.

Overall Rating : 4
I've been playin again for just under a year now and have 5 basses. I'm trying to find one that is light and has a thin neck. Its a quest. I wish I could have seen this bass in person before buying. I wouldnt have touched it with a ten foot pole. Just because of its condition. If it were lost or stolen, I wouldnt mind. The guy at the music shop was ecstatic at how it played. He really liked it, because he has thick hands and its a thick neck.Worn frets and dings and a loose knob that I forgot about until now make it a bum deal.

Late 80's early 90's model Peavey bass that is indeed a rare find and a good one at that. This bass was made in the U.S.A. and it's relatively well made. I'd say it's a 7.5 out of 10 when compared to say an Ernie Ball or a Fender. The body wood is Alder I believe and the paint is a high gloss dent resistant red. the neck has 21 frets on a rosewood board with a radius of 8. It's the typical volume, volume, tone control setup. It's got a PJ pickup configuration. Body weight is light and shaped somewhat like a P bass. Tuners appear to be Gotoh's and they work very well. 34 inch scale length and very easy to play. It also features a cool neck tilt adjustment. Hardshell Peavey form fitting case was included with bass.

Sound : 5
Ok, nothing special. It has preformed flawlessly over the years, but it's got a generic tone. It's quiet and loud, but again nothing special

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
This is a US made bass and overall it's pretty good. The neck joint is probably it's biggest set back. The gap is quite noticeable, but it doesn't seem to affect tone or playability. The high gloss paint is nice and has stood up well, but it's had noticeable bubbles or small air pockets from the get go. Again they are small and hardly noticeable, but they are indeed there. It plays very well and feel comfortable even after hours of playing. All the hardware is of excellent quality and has never been a problem. Frets and neck have been rock solid with no troubles at all.

Reliability/Durability : 10
She's a tough old bird. No problems to report after 15 years of use. Neck hardly ever needs tweaking even in a 4 seasons climate.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never used them.

Overall Rating : 10
Nothing fancy, nothing special, just a good quality U.S. made Peavey bass that has a certain vibe about it. I'd look for another if it was lost or stolen. I've got my money's worth and have been happy with from day one.
