Sound : 8
The sound of this bass is very verstatile. Having the 3 band EQ allows for a huge variety of sounds. The only problem I had with the sound of this bass was that the pickups were too quiet and the tone was a little muddy when played with a pick. I went and changed the pickups to the EMG PJ active set, and this bass completely came alive. You can get any tone out of this bass now and it plays very well.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The bass set up at factory was superb. The pickups were at the perfect height and the strings and neck played beautifully. The finish was perfect, but a little too thin in my opinion. I put a few scratches in the back of it with my belt buckle a week after getting this bass, and my cat put a scratch in the finish in the back as well. Other than that, everything was great.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've had this bass for over a year and a half, and the only things I've changed are the string gauge, pickups, and action. The action after changing gauges was too low and I got a grinding sound with it. All hardware, finish, strap buttons, and all are fine. I've never had to adjust the truss rod, but the neck is a little flimsy and bends slightly if you pull on it. I'd gig with this bass without a backup, but I'd probably use my friend's custom Fender Jazz as a backup, just in case. Never risk anything.

Never had to deal with Peavey, and hopefully never will. The only problem I have with them is that I had no manuals and nothing on the site to figure out the control pattern, so I had to have a professional at a shop figure out what the Active/Passive selector was. other than that, everything's great.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for 3 years now, and I play through an SWR LA15 amp which is SWR's most versatile amp IMO. I would definitely buy this bass again if it were stolen, it is the bass that defines my style and the bridge setup is so wonderful. I added strap locks because I do some rather crazy bass tricks with this thing and I almost killed my first bass doing them, so I took no chances. This is not a custom bass by any stretch, but for the price that I payed and that you get it for, it's what I would consider to be Peavey's second best bassline after the Cirrus line. So if you're looking for a good, versatile bass, check this one out.
