Look below for the specs - to all the technical descriptions I would add that this bass looks & feels great! Very comfortable on stage. I would agree with the earlier review about the string spacing - a little tighter than my 4-string but I'm used to it now. In fact, I picked up a 4-string in the store the other day and it felt kind of strange to me.
Lots of cool features for what you pay!

Sound is great - if there's any fault here it's probably mine because I still struggle to get the tone very deep but not muddy. I'm always tweaking stuff while I play. I'm a guitar player who is still getting used to bass. I play rock/jazz/contemporary music in a group at church. Usually I put the bass thru my SansAmp Bass Driver straight to PA, but our monitors can't handle the bass well past a certain point. Last night I played thru a small GK Backline 110 which worked fine as a monitor for me.
I would say this bass sounds a little more "tech" to me, due to the active EQ - more alive than my Yamaha BB404. Great for rock & typical stuff. Don't know about metal/thrash.

I bought this one as a refurb - and it needed lots of tweaking to get the action right. It was way too low out of the box - it feels super now but there's not much more adjustment I can make. I guess I like the action pretty high.
Finish is nice for a guitar in this price range. It's a solid sparkly "tangerine", and I can see a few ripples in the gloss under the right light. Who cares? I always have kids people me this a COOL guitar - they don't have anything to judge it by except the looks so it must be decent.
The only issue I had was the battery rattling - took me a while to figure that out. Put some electrical tape around the battery and all is fine now!

I've had Peavey guitars before and they're all built like tanks. They've never really got the respect they deserved until EVH came their way. I think it will stand up to as much abuse as anything else I own. That's the main thing that attracted me to this - I knew it would be solid. Hardware is bulletproof.

I've been playing guitar for 16 years, Bass for less than one - turns out I'm really a better Bass player. Wish I would have figured that out a long time ago.
I really like this guitar. I didn't want to sink big $$$ into my new Bass interest, and this guitar feels good, plays good, sounds good. I may buy some fancy expensive bass someday, but I can see that this will be with me a long time. Maybe I never will need to upgrade it - who knows? Great guitar - easily worth twice what I paid.

Im not going to go through all of the hardware because i think the other guy did a bang-up job of it. I like the thinner neck, because i have only played on 4-strings before this one. it was a squire :(

Well, this is quite a step up from the squire p-bass. this bass has much more control and i havent even played it through a decent amp yet. mine is only a 15w, so its probably even better on a stage amp.

my action was pretty high straight out of the box and its hard to adjust. there are four hex nuts on each section of the bridge, which i havent messed around with. good for a refurb though

I have been playing for two years and own a cheapo squire. this bass can totally kick the squires ass for almost the same price. its almost sad. i would probably buy a carvin, because by the time this one is gone ill have enough money.

This bass is not to be confused with the Grind NTB. I received no accessories...not even an owner's manual. I figure because the one I ordered was a refurb.

This bass suits my music style just fine. I play mostly my own compositions with what I call a "corn fed rock" flair. I am currently recording at home with it and gigging small venues with Behringer's biggest bass amp to date. The bass is very quiet and the active eq's pretty well let me dial in the sound of my choice from good solid lows to punchy and bright and all between. I like the general appearance of the guitar and the variety of sounds I am able to come up with. If there is anything I dislike it's getting accustomed to the closer string spacing at the bridge because of the 5th string although it's a bit wider (2 1/2 inches) than the 5-string Rogue I own.

The bass was set up well at the factory. The action is very low, and I figured I'd have bad fret buzzes as I played it out of the box before plugging it in, but I didn't. I bought the bass as a refurb and didn't know what to expect when I ordered it, but it looked brand new. The strap button at the back was loose and I was afraid it may be stripped out, but it tightened up fine. The finish is pewter grey and like I said looked brand new.

Everything looks solid....can't find anything loose as far as hardware goes except for the loose strap button which tightened up just fine. I can see no reason why I wouldn't take it to a gig without a backup which I have done a few times.

I have e-mailed Peavey with inquiries and such and they have always responded. Never have needed them for support.

I have been playing music almost 40 years, now. I own 7 basses besides this one (Rogue fretless, Rogue 5-string, Fender Precision, Ibanez GSR 200, Dean Performer acoustic/electric, Tacoma CB10 acoustic/electric, and an upright bass) and a vast array of other instruments. I find it is hard at times to find out what the string spacing at the bridge is on bass guitars, so if you are reading this and wonder about this bass it's 2 1/2 inches. I like them wide and I wish the spacing was a tad wider on this bass, but considering the deal I got I will adjust I'm sure. If something happened to this bass I would buy another if I could get the same deal, but not at the SRP of $600.00 or even $450.00 like most of the web sites have it discounted to. I love the way it looks and the way it sounds "alive" compared to my other basses. I reckon what it would take to make it a near perfect bass for me would be a bridge with adjustable string spacing like I have seen at some guitar supply sites. One word of warning. If you go to Musician's Friend to look at this bass and the web page says "Free Case" disreguard the offer. Mine came without the "free case" and when I called they said it was a mistake and should not have said that. However, after taking the offer off the web page they later put it back up again. Now, it's gone again. If you see it pay no attention to it......it's a lie.
