Made in USA; 35" scale, 24 frets, 6 string neck-through. Controls are volume, pickup pan, bass, mid, & treble boost & cut, active electronics. Pickups are two "soapbar"-type (PEAVEY), with radiused tops, similar to playing over a ramp. Woods: Alder body wings, maple & purpleheart neck, quilted redwood top, and pau ferro / rosewood fingerboard. Finishes: no finish on back of neck or fingerboard, high gloss on body. Bridge is ABM, with individual locking saddles for intonation, height, and lateral (side to side) position. Tuners are standard for Gotoh-style. The control knobs are black plastic / rubber grommet-type knobs. They will be exchanged for wooden knobs from THG Knobs when the finances allow.

Sound : 9
I play mostly fingerstyle jazz and funk, and occasionally (as gigs require) country, folk, and indie rock. This bass suits my musical needs perfectly - playing in 10th position gives a heartier sound, and every style can be covered well. I'm using this bass with an Acoustic Image Clarus II amp and a Schroeder 1210L cabinet. It is not noisy on any setting. The sound is full yet focused, but does not sound compressed as would be expected from a neck-thru construction. I have not had any problem making a variety of bass sounds with it. I like the 3-band eq, particularly as that enables on-the-fly adjustment, which when combined with the pickup panning can be used to make any bass sound I need. It came with taper / exposed core strings that have violet wrappings on the tuning pegs, but I will change the strings shortly to DR HI-Beams, as I prefer the sound and feel of these.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Bass was purchased used at a local chain music store, but setup was decent for a used instrument. Pickups are adjusted well. I do all of my own setups, and thus far, have had to adjust the height on the B string, nothing more than required for buying a random used bass. The previous owner NEVER cleaned the bass - the back of the neck and the fingerboard was dirty. A quick bit of lemon oil fixed that right up. The gold hardware is wearing, but apparently this is a common theme for these basses.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This bass will last a very long time. I use Dunlop straplocks with it, as it came with this function. I'd definitely use it without a backup, and plan on doing so for a long time to come. I haven't adjusted the truss rod yet.

I've been playing bass for ~15 years. I also own a 1978 Fender Precision Bass (with brass nut & EMGs), a 2005 G&L L2500, a 2006 Pedulla Thunderbass ET5, a 1998 Warwick Corvette Standard Fretless, and a 1940s 3/4 size German plywood upright. I like this bass. if it were stolen or lost, I'd likely buy another. The 6th string is difficult, but I'm learning to navigate quickly. This bass has a great sound. I wish it had better knobs, but I can take care of that, so it's great the way it is!

My Cirrus 6 has a Mahagony body, Koa Top, Ebony Fretboard, and Maple Neck, beautiful Transparent finish. I'm really impressed with the overall appearance, it looks like a bass that would go for a much higher price. I am a music major and I play for hours a day, I've had the bass for about a year and there are no signs of wear and tear.
The fretboard is a good medium width, easily allowing for fast fingerwork, and slapping, the action is very flexible, and only recquired a slight adjustment when I bought it.

Sound : 9
I play on a daily basis, Jazz, Metal, Latin, even Classical/flamenco and the cirrus seems to have a solid sound for all styles, especially in Latin styles, the parametric midange knob allows me to dial in those warm low mids. Highs are crisp but sometimes overbearing, must be conservative with the treble knob. Lows are good, but seem to be lacking with certain string types. Very versatile, there are many woods availible, I think Mahagony/Koa is a good choice for this axe, strong mids. No significant complaints

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
action was almost perfect from the start, seems to easily balance out between B and c string. No factory flaws, I've inspected a few Cirrus' at the Music store I used to work at. They all seem to be well made, consistent, and good quality control in the woods.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I'll give it an eight because I've only had it a year, but it hasn't screwed up on me yet, however a tuning head screw did come out about a month ago, and I hadn't tampered with it., finish is hard and durable. The only thing, the batteries tend to go out fast, but that could be because I play all day.

Customer Support : 2
I had to call Peavey Customer Support 5 times to order my custom bass. I left a few voicemails and no one returned my call. When the bass finally arrived, it turns out Peavey had given the dealer the wrong wholesale price, with was $1000 over what I was quoted on their online custom shop. The problem got worked out but it took a few days and was endlessly frustrating.

Overall Rating : 9
Great bass, great price (after stepping on some toes), great sound, comparable to much more expensive axes, a lot of options in the custom shop in terms of woods and colors. It's my mainstay workhorse for all occasions. I'd reccomend it to anyone, customer service asside.

I never thought a Bass should have 5-Strings but 6-Strings..well that's Taboo. But I bought My 6-String because it was almost a Steal. The thin Thru-Body Neck, Beautiful Finish, Gold Electronics and overall feel made Me buy this Bass without regrets. Although I'm a 4-String Fretted and Fretless Bass Player, but after watching Les Claypol do tricks on His 6-String, I really was curious if I could convert. When I bought This Bass it was New and with the Hardshell Case which I like better then Gig Bags.

Sound : 10
Unbelievable Slap and Pop action after being set-up to My taste. I had to get use to the wider Neck but I'ts given Me a reason to practice more. Beautiful Tones and Harmonics, deep low "B" and aggressive Highs. I'm from the old school and play a lot through My "Art Nightbass" and boy does te 6-String soung good.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The Bubinga Wood Finish gets a lot of attention and the overall weight is that bad. The Action is nice and slick, the Pick-ups, after playing with the controls, are spontanious and beefy. Low noise but the body does pick-up tapping sometimes

Reliability/Durability : 10
This Bass has caused so many Headaches because of all the Bass is capable of doing with the hamonic Sounds, Slap and Tap and with careful adjusting, I can almost mimic My Surine Affinity 4-String Fretless. The Bass has become a big part of My music arsenal to compete with Keyboards and Synthesizers.

Customer Support : 10
Came with a 1 year Warranty but I never used it.

Overall Rating : 10
Any True Bass Player needs a good 6-String Bass and My choice was the Peavey Cirrus and I have no regrets of purchasing it.

24 frets
Maple top - beautiful
The 18 volt active electronics are able to give a wide variety of sounds quickly without amp adjustments. I use the bass and highs cranked for slap with the pickup knob at halfway, but I can quickly change to a mid-range, Jaco sound by turning up the mids know all the way, and turning the pickup knob to the bridge pickup. The difference in 2 minor adjustments is substantial.
The width of the neck is perfect. Not too skinny that you can't get slap accurately, but not too fat (ala Ken Smith) that you can't quickly get from the B to C string.

Sound : 10
It feels like home. I was not planning on buying one. I was saving up for a Warwick, but stopped in a music store to buy a cord and happened to sit down with it. No comparison to the Warwick for me. I didn't fall in love with them like this one. Incredible sound through a Hartke 3500 with a Dave Eden 2x10 and Aguilar 1x12 cab. I like a very full sound. Too many slap bassists have great bass and highs but no mids. You can choose the settings for great mids for the bass fills that often get lost in the mix.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Bass was set-up to play right away. No adjustments necessary. I replaced the strings with Elixir nanowebs because they last much longer. The gold hardware does eventually wear off on the tuners from continual use of your sweaty hands. I knew about this and sprayed them with a clear, protective finish to keep them new looking. I don't like the idea of not having a battery compartment.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've been playing this bass for years 3/4 times a week in a 17-piece jazz band and a gospel group. I always forget my guitar stand so I prop it up against things (yes, it's stupid) and it's dropped more times than I'd like to admit. It shows no signs of my stupidity. The laquer is very hard and won't chip or crack or discolor.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
The only thing that would make this bass better is a cup holder. It's a really great bass. I sold my other 2 basses because I no longer desire to play them. I just own this and a fretless now.

I have a 2002 Peavey Cirrus 6 String with Redwood Top! It is a 24 Fret Freted bass, It has two Humbucking VLF Peavey Pup's. It is active. Pou Ferro Fingerboard with 5 piece Maple/Wenge/Maple/Wenge/Maple Neck Natural Oil Finish, Neck Through, And Case... Neck is Faster than Hell.

Sound : 10
I play all styles of Music, and it can EASILY cover anything you tell it to... Latin Jazz to Punk, its all fair game... I am using it through a Crappy Rogue RB-120T amp (?!?!?!) but this baby still sings... No noise, not a peep, unless you tell it to! It has the ability to sound however you want it too... It can be Thick and Chunky for Fat Greasy Groves, or Trebbly (A word?) and Thin, for Fast Punk. This bass easily has More Versatility in its sound than ANY bass I have played under $2,000...

I love the Limitless sounds. Nothing to dislike...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The Factory Set up is SUPERB! My Fodera Lakland 55-94 didnt have as good a set up! The Action was PERFECT, Super low, for great Finger style and Excelent Two-Hand tapping is a sinch. Not ONE flaw in my bass, it was PERFECT.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This Bass is a true performer! It Sounds better in the Mix than almost bass I have heard, regardless of Price, the Only bass that Sounds Better to me in a Mix is a Sodowsky! (And thats saying a lot) The Hardware is Top notch! Gold Plated, it looks Gorgeous! The Finish is there, and it always will be! The strap buttons are REALLY on well... I have played many gigs when the bass has actually slipped off the strap (DOH!!!) but this bass also includes a Strap Lock for extra Protection! I have to adjust the Truss Rod's about every 3 Months or so, Not bad at all actually. No matter how Much I praise any bass I would NEVER gig withought a Backup... I have Been in sound enough to know you can never TRULY rely on anything No matter how Great it is.

Customer Support : 4
I have only spoken to the Company once, and the Person was Quite Rude actually... It may be unfair to biased my opinion on ONE phone call but thats what im gonna do.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been Playing for about 7 years now. I have had a Fodera Monarch, A Modulus Q6, Ibanez BTB basses, Lakland's, and Pedulla's and My Cirrus Can hold its own against all of them! If it were stolen I would Go Get another ASAP! I dont hate anything about it, My only complaint is that is a Peavey, I HATE peavey, But I love my Cirrus! I compared this bass to MANY other basses, This bass was about 1/3 the price of the others, It was up against Fodera's, Modulus, Pedulla, Lakland, Sadowsky, Ken Smith, Dingwall... Mostly this bass out beat them for the Price aspect... The Cirrus is perfectly able to hold its own with those basses... But it would be further down on the List.

Overall I'd Give it a 10, Not concidering Customer Service, This bass is Almost flawless, its Beautiful, Fun to play, Great Sounding, Great Playability, Light as a Feather...

35 inch scale neck through walnut body toped with bubinga wood, walnut neck paue fretboard 6 string. Trebel, mid, bass and a special blend knob that lets u blend the neck and bridge pickup as u please. The neck is also graphite reinforced.

Sound : 9
I play everything and i mean anything and everything u could ever imagine and i havent found a style it doesnt go well with. I play through a peavey T-max with 2 10's and a tweeter, the sound is amazing, deep and boomy like a p-bass to a jazz sound just from turning the blend knob back and forth. I like it in the middle though most of the time unless im in the mood or if the music calls for slapping i turn the mids up and the blend knob to the bridge pickup. The only reason i give it a 9 is because i miss the agressiveness of my music man 5..........im sure a good preamp would fix this when i want that super agressive sound. Never played in the studio yet but this bass is very very very quiet through my rig. You gotta play one for urself, I promise you will love it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is the lowest ive ever seen from the factory, i raised all the strings just slightly becuase i love to slap. No high spots, no errors just perfect. The finish has about 3 small spots where it is dark (i dont know how it gets that way), but it doesnt even phase me for a second becuase it is so beutiful.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The rating tells my story, nuff said exept it feels like a feather compared to my music man heavey weight champion.

Customer Support : 10
Havent had one trouble yet. The warranty is for 5 years!! nice.......and its free..........the rating is only based on the warranty.

I have a 2002 6-string cirrus bass. The top wood is a bubinga and the the wood on the back is walnut. it has a walnut neck with a pau-ferro fingerboard. The bass has 24 frets with a cool "C" inlay at the twelth fret. It has volume control, blend ctrl, and a 3 band EQ(treable, mid, and bass). It has a hand rubbed oil finish which really show off the the beauty of the wood. The pickups are Peavey made VFL's. They are one of the best pickups i have ever played. This bass is a neckthru and i have always liked the sound of a nechthru better than the sound of a bolt-on. It has a 35" scale. The bass comes with a really awsome case that the bass fits in like a glove. The bass comes with a 2 allen keys and straplocks.

Sound : 10
I play in shows, jazz, rock, and blues bands. There is no gig that this bass can't handel. It practically possible to get any sound out of it that you want. I have played Pedulla's, Ibanez, and Warwick and they dosen't come close to the sound. The Cirrus is in a class by itself when it comes to sound. The bass is also very studio quiet. I can't tell you enough about the sound you just need tho find one and play it to see for yourself. The bass works great through every amp and head. Mine is plugged into a SWR Mo'Bass head and SWR Goliath cabinet.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The bass came with very low action which is what i like on any bass, but if you don't like low action the bass does come with a abm adjustable bridge so you can raise if you want. The bass was flawless when i took it out of the case.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The bass can definatly withstand any kind of live playing. It comes with staplocks so you don't have to be worried about the strap slipping off while you're playing. The finnish is great and the only thing that could happen to it is it could dent. I would definatly use it without a backup beacause i sold all my other basses.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had to contact them and probibly will never have to.

Overall Rating : 10
This bass is awsome and good for anybody. The bass has the best sound that i have ever heard form a neckthru (which is all i play) If this bass was ever stolen i would track down the little punk and beat him. The sound agin is the best feature this bass has.

Peavy Cirrus 6 string. This instrument has a flamed maple top over an alder body, 35 inch scale, neck through construction, five piece maple and purple heart neck which is graphite reinforced, 24 frets with a deep cut away body that gives access to the upper frets, 18 volt active soap bar pickups with 3 band EQ, master volume and pickup blend control, gold hardware, a heavy ABM brass bridge and a tough hardshell case. There are several wood combinations that are available.

Sound : 10
I went into a top end bass store in CA with credit card in hand, willing to spend whatever it took to get the best sounding 6 string I could. I took down every 6 string on the shelf (Ken Smith, Warwick, Modulus, Lakland, Zon, etc.) and played them side by side on an Eden rig set flat and this Peavy utterly blew out basses costing three times as much! I looked at the price tag and then the salesman that I had been working with and he said "I know, I can't believe it either." This thing puts out pure, clean tone from low B to screamin' highs. I play anything from jazz to alternative rock and this instrument simply says "no sweat". You can easily dial in any sound from warm, smooth jazz growl to pure, power funk and rock! The 35 inch scale and neck through give it fantastic lows and sustain. Super quiet, super clean electronics. I'm now playing through an SWR Mo' Bass amp and a couple of Acme Bass Low B-2 cabs and I get tons of floor shaking, make the hair on your neck stand up bass guitar!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The strings were set up perfectly and lasted a long, long time. The fret work is top notch. I've had the bass for over a year now and have not noticed a single flaw in its construction or components. Everything on the instrument has been top quality and has proven itself over the last year of playing and recording. The bass is extrememly comfortable to wear due to its longer upper horn and body contouring. You're not worn out at the end of a studio day.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This thing has been bomb proof. I've gigged, recorded, inside, outside, you name it. Totally solid! No wear on the finish on the instrument or any of the hardware.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealt with the company at all because there's been no need. I'm telling you, I have a degree in music and have been playing for 16 years, I've owned a lot of top end instruments and this one KICKS #@$&!!! Save your thousands of extra dollars and buy two of these monsters. Like I said before, it wasn't the price that sold me it was the SOUND!

Overall Rating : No Opinion
If this bass were stolen, before the ink was dry on the police report I'd be at my local Peavy dealer banging my fist on the counter ordering up another one!
