This bass was bought in 2003,made in vietnam. 20 frets, bolt on neck, 4 strings, 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob, 1 passive pickup. Thin good sized neck and I'm pretty sure it's a maple neck with rosewood fretboard. Black finish kinda looks like a fender jazz. Pretty simple but could use another pickup.

Sound : 8
Suits my music style prtty well (i play mostly rock and a bit of metal). Has a pretty good warm neutral sound although kinda gets unclear when you turn up the volume although that's probably the amp (also a peavey).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Really well made, nice solid materials and feel. Tuning knobs are top knotch same as the volume and tone knobs. The body looks good although it doesn't stand out that much. The bridge is top knotch and the pickups and pickguard are solid. Neck looks great and is probably one of the most comfortable necks i've ever felt.

Reliability/Durability : 5
The one flaw I have with this is the neck. It looks great and feels solid but I wouldn't bring this to go touring or anything, the neck gets warped way to easily. All I did was go back and forth to bass lesons and the neck got warped. My brother leaves his guitar anywhere and his didn't get warped at all and he's had his for 3 years now! The body though will go through basically anything.

Customer Support : No Opinion

I've been playing for two years now and since the neck is warped I'm going to have to buy a new bass (i know i can fix it but i've already fixed it once and i'd rather just buy a new one). If it were stolen i would be mad because even though it's warped it's still a pretty fun bass to play with but i wouldn't buy it again because i'm a much better bass player than before and i'd rather have something at bit more upscale but for a beginner it's fine as long as you don' go out with it to much.

This is such a simple bass. Volume,Tone knob. This is a 2003 model. Maple Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard.

Sound : 8
I love the sound of this bass. It has a great warm sound. We use it in the studio for recording, and we are quite pleased with the results. For rock blues or folk it sounds outstanding.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Very easy to play, the neck is a pleasure. I purched this guitar in a local shop straight off the wall. The axe was set up by the shop and the action was beautifull and lite to the touch.

Never had the pleasure Thank God.

Been playing 30 yrs and this is one of the best bargins in the industry. You wont find a better bass for the buck. If lost or stolen I would buy it again. It sounds great and its a pleasure to play. Some people gave this guitar a low rateing but in my opion they have no idea what there talking about. Do yourself a favor go check one out and you'll see what I mean.

a pretty simple beginner bass. it's got a knob for volume and a knob for tone. it's got a perfect neck size that works well with anyones hands. i have had several friends play it and they say it plays well. two pickups could be improved on but is good for a beginner

Sound : 9
there have been a lot of complaints about the sound of this bass, but i haven't had any problems with it at all. it's got a really full sound that seems to fit in wherever i play it. This is saying something since i use a piece peavey rage 158 amp. the amp sux, but the sound from this bass compensates nicely

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the make of this bass has been overall pretty good. the only problems i have had at all is the nut was a little lose at first, but i took it to a local music shop and they tightened it, haven't had any problems since

Reliability/Durability : 10
the truely great thing about this bass is that, at least for me, it's built like a rock. this bass has been dropped, stepped on, sat on, banged, the works, and is still holding up great. a lot of people have complained about this area, but for me it's been flawless.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
Although i have only been playing for about 8 months, this bass seems to work very well. I have had a great experience with this bass, although from reading other reviews, i guess some people haven't. I wish it had more pickups, and some more knobs so i could customize the sound more, but it works pretty good with what it's got. My only real complaint would be the apparent inconsistency of this bass. you either love it or you hate it. so i'd say buying it is a risk, so test play first if you can, and if you seemed to get a nice one, buy it for sure.

This is an update to my previous product review on the Peavey Milestone IV 4-String Bass. The neck is indeed maple & the fretboard looks like rosewood. People who see it think it is a more expensive, higher-end instrument. Strangely enough, the more I use this Bass, whether it's at Gigs, Jams, or just practicing at home, the more I'm starting to like it and play it a lot.( It's actually cutting into the playing time of my 1963 Hofner Reissue Beatle Bass-an instrument worth ten times as much money ! )It's also going to be competition for my newly acquired 1969 Hagstrom H II B N Vintage Bass, and that is one sweet Bass !

Sound : 7
It seems to sound better all the time. Had it through a Trace Elliot Rig at a recent Church Gig and it sounded great. With my own Amp, a Yorkville BassMaster 200T 2x10" Combo, it sounds really good. I may get a Tech 21 SansAmp Bass DI-they are supposed to improve any Amp's volume, tone, clarity, etc.
I play Rock, R & B, Blues & Christian, and it covers all my bases.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This Bass seems to be my main Stage Bass now and it's holding out beautifully. It may soon lose that status to my newly acquired Vintage 1969 Hagstrom H II B N Bass.
Definitely don't need a backup. This is a very durable/reliable instrument.

Purchased January 2002. Made In Vietnam, according to removable label on the back of the neck. 34 inch scale. Jazz-type Slender Neck, easy to play, P-Bass type Split Coil Pickup. Body is Hardwood, Neck might be Maple, but I'm not sure. Reddish Sunburst Body, looks good, white pickguard. Had a bit of trouble getting the action set so it wouldn't buzz. Schaller style tuners-average quality. P-Style Bridge. This Bass in some ways is like a Precision, but has basic differences also, like an extended upper horn. Came without case, I had to buy a gig bag for it. Controls are Volume and Tone.

Sound : 7
For a cheap Bass I was quite pleasantly surprised by it's tone. Kinda like a P-Bass after all. Using it with whatever's available. I am a recreational Bass Player and usually when I show up to Jam there's a Rig to plug into-last one was a Peavey Mark IV 400 Watt Bass Head & Cerwin-Vega 1x18" 1x10" & Horn Cab. Sounded Good. Only complaint would be that it is a little too bright at times. I need more time with this Bass to assess it. I have my own Yorkville BassMaster 200 Watt 2x10" & 1x15" Bass Rig in storage but I'll get a chance soon enough. Limited variety of tone but it gets you through a lot of types of music Rock, R & B, Blues, etc. No effects yet, possibly Tech 21 SansAmp BassDriver DI on the way. For the money this Bass does a lot.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Action set-up at factory poor. Too high and even after the Bass Tech in the Music Store did a set-up, there was buzz and I had to re-do it myself later. Pickups adjusted alright. Noticeable flaw was the Fret on about the third or fourth being somewhat jagged on the outside.

Reliability/Durability : 6
So far my Bass has really not been put to the test because I haven't played live enough times. Time will tell. I read another reviewer say his strap button on the horn came out-wood and all. Luckily, that hasn't happened to me yet! I bought this Bass as a Back-up Bass to my Hofner Vintage 1963 Re-Issue 500/1 Beatle Bass. It was also intended to cover music the Hofner isn't suitable for. Dependability is an unknown-so far so good.

Customer Support : 6
Had to go back to Dealer twice: once for Action Re-set, once to replace Input Jack. Warranty applied both instances, and it is Three Year.

Overall Rating : 7
I have been playing 34 years off and on, including other instruments. I wish I had asked for a Brown Sunburst instead of Red. Would then match my other Guitars. I also own a 1963 Vintage Re-Issue 500/1 Hofner Violin Bass & a 1977 H.O.B. Acoustic Guitar. My Amps consist of a Yorkville BassMaster 200T 200Watt 2x10" combo c/w a Yorkville BC115 1x15" 300Watt Extension Cab. For practice I use a Fender BXR25 25 Watt practice amp & a Rolls Mini-Mix II MX 51 & Phono Pre-amp for " In-Headphones Only Practice ", so as to not get evicted !

Overall, this Bass is intended as my jammin' Bass, to be dragged around and not worried about.I'll see if it's up to the task!

Maple body and neck, Rosewood fretboard. It is a p-bass style body and pickup configuration (split humbucker). I have an older version (97) with the body exacly like a P-bass. They have changed it now, the bass horn (think top) is longer. It is not really a P-bass replica, since it has a thinner neck (more like a Jazz neck). Pretty standard. And, like any idiot whose played for a while, I threw on some strap locks.

Sound : 9
It may not be or play exactly like a P-bass, but it sounds like one. I haven't had any trouble with buzzing (unless my action was too low) or anything like that. It seems to have good sustain and punch. I play alot of styles (reggae, punk, jazz, etc) and find it works well (like a P-bass) for most. I got started playing bass from a friend in high school and then went back afer playing guitar so I could master Cliff Burton type bass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I have no idea how it was setup at the factory. I can say that my shop set it up very nicely for me (filing frets, etc). No loose controls or anything. It works fine and I have played alot of high end stuff in my time.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have had this bass for over 5 years. It has been stepped on and thrown and it plays fine. I have chipped the finish from to many hops with a studded belt on, but that is normal. She is rock solid, simple and easy to use (if only Peavey amps were the same). That's not too much to expect for a bass. Oh yeah, no one should play bass without strap locks.... that's a given, so just put em on.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Wha? Never had a problem....

Overall Rating : 9
I am mainly a guitar player, but I really learned bass first. My old buddy Jordan taught me on his original '67 P-bass with the single coil and everything. I have played lots of high end basses and have many friends who play alot (semi pro and pro session and jazz) who are impressed with this cheap bass. It is not a substitute for a good Jazz or P bass (but they are like $700 or so for a good one), but it works well. I prefer a Jazz bass now, but I will keep using this for gigs and writing until I have an extra grand.... and I am not a beginner...

The only Features this bass offers is a volume control and a pickup pan. The pickups are passive (and junky at that). The neck on this bass is TINY at best. This bass CANNOT keep a neck adjustment. I bought it from a local music store and all strings rattled on diferent frets. After SEVERAL adjustments the problem only comes back worse than it began with. I wound up paying around $300 and i realized that i had gotten ripped off after i got some experience behind bass. It came with no accessories.

Sound : 4
The only way to get this bass to sound halfway decent is to string up some labella slappers. This bass distorts and rattles on the fretboard. I will hand it to this bass when it comes to playing slap. The action is decent at best and has a pretty good slap tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The action was decent, but only for slap. Otherwise you better be listing this on e-bay. The pickups are very low grade stuff. All the hardware was attached properly, but again the poor neck that can't hold an adjustment comes into play. Other than that it's a nice looking bass.

Reliability/Durability : 3
I'm afraid the neck will snap soon. The finish is on there pretty well. This bass dents easily so be careful if you have your keys in your pocket.

Customer Support : 1
What warranty!? They basically told me that the neck was my problem. I had to pay to get this fixed.

Overall Rating : 3
I've been playing about 4 years now. I own a Peavey Black Widow 4x12 cab, Ampeg SVT 3 Pro Head, Epiphone Explorer 4-string (blows this peavey out of the water), and I have a Tobias Toby Pro 6 on order. I wish I had more experience on the bass when i bought it. It served it's purpose as a beginner bass, but that's all. If this bass were stolen or anything i feel pity for somebody who took it over the explorer.

Well i baught this bass recently and i love it. I am a beginner bass player but the look of the bass swept me off my feet. I like how the neck it rather thin and the bass isnt to heavy. I noticed that the neck wasnt on to tight it felt like it might snap off. So i got it checked and they tightened it. the color is a metallic blue with a white pick guard. It only has 2 controls 1 for tone and the other for volume. I think it is a 20 or 22 fret bass but it isnt a fretless. the bridge doesnt seem to strong it feels as if it might come off, but overall i like the features on this bass

Sound : 5
The sound quality isnt that good out of it. it is distored and sometimes it gives off more distortion when the amp is full blast.
I have a fender 45 watt bass amp and the two pieces dont work the greatest together but they do the job on low to med power. In my opinion i think with new pickups and a new bridge this bass could sound awesome.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I found that everything was there except I think the could of tightened the bridge and neck tighter but besides that the bass was in good shape. Also it was set up a little loose sounding.

Reliability/Durability : 8
this bass is a good solid bass that can take a beating and only need the ocassional neck adjustment and tuning. I am having no problems with the strap buttons or anything else noticable so i think this bass can and will last for a while.

Customer Support : 8
The store i got my bass at was steve's in ottawa it is a well respected place but a tad pricey. I have a 5 year warranty on my amp and bass so if it brakes i will buy a new one or get it exchanged. The people at steve's seemed like they knew what they were talkin about and they were very friendly.

Overall Rating : 7
I am only a beginner at bass but i think this bass gives me room to grow. I really like the color i find it makes it look sharpe. I do wish though it had more knobs so that it could be adjusted better and also i think it should have better pickups and a better bridge because it has the serious potential to be a killer bass.

This was my first bass. It's a Peavy International Series Milestone IV. It's more or less a P-bass copy, but not as good. Unfornatly, the place I bought it at ripped me off. It is 4 string, Bolt on neck, a single split pickup, Passive, a tone knob and a volumn knob, sunburst with a white pick gaurd, plastic nut, 20 frets, I'm not sure the body material, but it seems fairly light weight and strong and non locking 4-in-a-row tuners

Sound : 5
It sounds ok. It has pretty good versatility by itself. When you set it to low it gets muddy and distorted. You can't get a very warm sound out of it. It works decently for in my band, in which we play classic rock (Cream, Steve Miller, Styx, Led Zeppelin) and more modern songs (Blur, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers). I need a little more versatility. It has a pretty bad hum on it, but you can get rid of it by putting more low in it. The only problem is it gets muddy, like I described above.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
The neck seems to be on pretty tight, but not as tight as some fenders and ric's I've tried. I don't have any concerns with it though. The action on it was set horrible, the fret buzz is horrible. The E escpecially was bad, but I fixed it a little. I raised the action but then I started to lose volumn. This may be lack of knowledge on my part, but it can't be completely.

Reliability/Durability : 3
One main thing that was a flaw was the strap peg. I was waiting for an audition, when it just flys out, peg and all, plus a small chunk of wood. I had my dad re-drill it, and he was saying it was because they had drilled the hole twice and not deep enough, but he fixed it nice and tight. The workmanship on this bass does not seem to be the highest. The pickups don't seem to be held in teh body very tight either. The bridge is pretty cheap, it wiggle from time to time, and is only held onto the body bye a few screws. I would never gig without with this without a backup. But if I had a backup, I would use that instead of this. The nut is plastic and is slowly wearing down, which I don't like. I don't feel like it will hold up.

Customer Support : No Opinion
haven't had to deal with them

Overall Rating : 4
I've been playing for about a year. This was my first bass. I play it with a Peavy Microbass practice amp (a very nice practice amp) and a Hartke 2115 for gigs. I also have a Zoom BFX-708 multi-effects pedel. The Zoom helps it a lot, it can take out almost all of the hum and add the warmth that it the bass lacks. This is is only good as a begginng bass, but I would be hesitant to suggest it. For it's price, you should get a fender or ibanez, both of who make much better basses at this price. they are much more solid and sound better. This is not a great bass. I would not reccomand it.
