Play metal, punk, new vave, alternative, ehperimental. Using it with my Music Man one fifty HD sounds awensome. It's not noisy. It has warm and rich sound. Comparing it to my Hoyer 5040, Penco SG bass better runs on stage.

It is made for live palaying. It's not heavy, ballance is awensome. After over 30 years of who knows how many owners, and who-knows how many hours of playing, still in perfect condition, all original, only strap buttons are changed to strap locks. It is very dependable, i gig with it without backup.

No Opinion
Only information about the company: The Penco brand is really no different from the Ibanez (Hoshino). They were made in the same factory as the Ibanez, along with the Elger and Univox brands, manufactured in Japan, and distributed by the Philadelphia Music Exchange.

I've been playing for 15 years. I've owned and tried lots of bass guitars. This one is most confortable to play, comparing it to my second favorite Hoyer 5040, well Hoyer has 5% better and fatter tone. Comparing it to Gibson SG Reissue 4-String Bass...well I dont know what to say...it is like original. If you find one of these, grab it. Maybe on headstock it doesent say Gibson, but it sure looks and plays like original, even it has bolt on neck. If it were stolen...I will hurt someone...badly...
