1967 Ric 4001s, fireglo. the coveted bass for the collector. Mine actually is a 4000 that has been retrofitted with the neck pickup, but ask me if I lose sleep over that:) Also it only has the two knobs and one toggle. Master volume and Tone. Thinking about unwiring the tone, what's a Ric without tone. Also I had it refretted with jumbo frets, when I bought it the fretboard was separating and the frets were dog meat.

this is the kicker, those of you that have old 4000 or s models and need a refret, I HIGHLY recommend that you get jumbo frets. Two reasons, one, they add stability to the neck and old Rics need that, Two: The TONE. It puts the Ric tone on steroids. Not good for slapping much but the growl and ability to dominate the center of the sound is ASTOUNDING.

Thing's older than me, so I have no idea of new setup in 1967

I have played hundreds of gigs with this and many recording sessions. Nice thing about old basses is that they are done moving and they stay in tune.

I am a big fan of vintage instruments, this thing is one of the great instruments that some of us are lucky enough to come across and actually afford.
