Features : 6
Made in Korea, 24 frets, single coil jazz style pickups, Active, Bubinga body w/maple neck, crappy die-cast hardware, huge neck, rosewood fingerboard 35 inch scale, tiny string spacing

Sound : 5
It sounds pretty good for the most part, but you can't really solo either pickup because of a massive amount of hum. So really, you get one sound that is pretty close to a jazz. IMO the bridge pickup is totally useless because the frequencies are off. The neck pickup is good sounding for slap, sounds like marcus miller a little bit if you use it right. What would you expect for 250$? I don't know why people are rating this so high.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
Zero setup when I received it. I had to do everything myself, and then some. The action was so low that you couldn't get a note out of the damn thing. Several large guitar store were absolutely stumped by it. Could not fix it at all.

Reliability/Durability : 2
I can't really rely on it, but I have no other bass so I have to. Hardware sucks, strap buttons come unscrewed every other week, tuners suck and make loud kinking noises when turned. Knobs come unscrewed and the pot falls inside the cavity often. Constant maintenance required.

Been playing for 3 years, started on a Squier P basss which could hardly be considered a bass. This is about 10 times better than that, but still sucks real bad. Be warned. You get what you pay for.

Loaded with features, you've seen them all, active and passive, brass nut, string through (gift and burden, nothing but extra long scale strings work) single coils with blend and 3 band active.

Sound : 9
Like a jazz but tighter, very nice heft in the tone though.
long scale really does make a difference. I tune to drop C and the B string down to G!!! It takes it fine with 110 and 130's though.
Sounds really really good, the best of the Rogue if the pickup position is in the middle, both on full, otherwise the single coils are going to humm through the PA.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
It was setup well in my case, very low action but it didn't take much to adjust it. Dual truss rods are handy. Bridge doesn not go very high, you run out of up with those short screws but I like little action so I can mute better so that's kind of a me thing, but makes you want to drop a Hipshot bridge in, looks like it would fit great, but haven't tried.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I have some issues with the 1/4 plug, but it works great 99% of the time, every once in a while I it cuts out and requires the cable to be adjusted. I used to you right angle cords but have gone back to stright cords so you get some side pressure on the plug, seems to have helped. Screws are soft everywhere but usual adjust well. I would always carry a backup, just because it's a gig and you are being depended on, even a string break will cost you the set without a backup.

Customer Support : 1
None that I know of, it's funny because I found out Rogue is a Musicains friend brand to save money that just don't have documentation and most of the info in the website is old, like they say these things have 2 band eq, well it's 3, the five string they say has humbuckets but does not,

Overall Rating : 10
I am very happy to have six string bass that is good enough to record with and play out with for 250 bucks, just stupid really. The six is the best because it's not as noisy as the rest of the Rogues. Great instrument, the big neck takes almost any tuning so it's great for the money. GREAT.

2007 model. Korean made with basswood body and bubinga laminat top-quite stunning- two single coils. active/passive (via push-pull voulme pot), three band EQ, pan pot. Nice maple neck connected with 6 bolts-very solid.

Sound : 9
Sounds much like a jazz bass. However, being a 35 inch scale, it's much "tighter" sounding. Also, the active RQ allows lots of tonal options unavailable in a passive jazz bass (not to mention two extra strings!). I play rock, blues, jazz and jam (Jerry lives!) music.
I'm running the bass through an SWR Super Redhead 210 combo on top of an 18" cabinet. Very fat, full and defined sound. Quite versatile in bagging vintage to modern tones. Really cuts through the mix. Have used it to record direct to the board with very good results.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
This is a mixed-bag. Set-up is evidently not on the list of "things to do" at the factory. The brass nut appeared to have been carved by an apprentice in the dark. Random string spacing and depth. The frets were way out of level. The strings lay flat in the board. That's the bad news. The good news is that the rest of the bass is put together AMAZINGLY well! Surprisingly solid hardware, very well shaped and finished neck and body and really pretty wood.
So here's what I did to fix it: I contacted a well respected luthier, and for $80.00 he carved a new nut out of bone and leveled and dressed the frets. The truss rods were adjusted and the intonation set (factory setting was really close). Now it's a VERY NICE bass. Really. Money well spent.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've gigged with it several times. Every component on this bass meets or exceed the quality of most basses in the $600-$800 range. I have no issues with reliability. Should be good for the long haul. I use no back-up bass.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I decided not to pursue the above stated quality issues with the manufacturer (or retailer). If you have similar issues, I urge you to take my route. Hire a good luthier.

Overall Rating : 10
Nixon was recording in his home (office) studio when I started playing bass (1974). I've played and owned LOTS of basses and gear over the years and I must say that today is a golden age for players. Never has there been a time when one could get so much for so little. I have a hard time figuring how this bass trades for $229. $229!!!(OK, plus $80 to the luthier equals $309 -still way cheap). Thats crazy-cheap. And trust me, this is a REAL bass, not a toy. My last bass cost 6 times more than this and sounded .05% better. Now that the bass has been profesionally "dialed-in" It' Amazing. If it were lost or stolen I would not hesitate to buy another

What an incredible deal, but agreed that you have to be patient to get the great deal-

Others have covered the features except I believe the model has changed in one positive way- It now has a master tone, pup fader, bass mid and treble-

Sound : 9
very growly, clean almost es335 up high, and superb low end- low d and b sound much more robust than jbass- quite an unusual range of sounds-

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
fit finish- superb
big, flat semi wide- u can play classical etudes on this creature- low action and ligtest gauge ive ever played adds to great feal and sound- vibrato is whole new experience and you can touchtap with ease if u are a frustrated stick player-

but, big but..
i had to return the first bass..there was no relief and complete release of the dual rods didnt get the buzz out- 3 long weeks later, replacement showed up- still no relief but close enough to get some bow with rods loosened-

2nd bass has settled out nicely but expect to be patient on this one-

Reliability/Durability : 8
very solid all around- will leave jbass home 95% of time

Customer Support : 7
return was friendly but slow

been playing 25 years on an american jbass for about 6 years and totaly sold on 5 strings and active- but as with others, had to check out 6 strings for the price-

Made in Korea in 2004. 24 fret 6 string 35" scale. 2 jazz style pickups with switchable active passive electronics. Volume, Blend, Bass, Mid and Treble controls. Basswood body with bubinga veneer, Rosewood fretboard and Maple neck. String-thru body bridge. Dual Truss rods.

Sound : 10
This bass sounds suprisingly good for the price. The low end is nice and growly and the high end is very clear. The bass/mid/treble controls give a very good range of tones and the bass sound great with these controls set flat. I have noticed the pickups are quite noisy when the bass is around other electronics (computers, etc)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
We might hit a bit of a bump here. It almost seems like they missed the last step of the setup at the factory. When the bass arrived it was in excellent condition but i noticed that the strings were literally laying on the frets. I was concered that the bass had been damaged but it was fine, just never setup properly. The neck was also perfectly straight, which is a fine sentiment but not very functional. After a few hours of tweaking and setup (truss rods, action, and intonation) the bass now plays great. Everything else was in perfect order, the finish, electronics, frets and hardware are top notch. In short be prepared to set this bad boy up yourself. Be advised the bass has a very WIDE neck even for a 6, probably not the best choice for those of you with small hands. The neck is very nice and very playable but if you have short fingers you'll have a tough time with it. This is also my first 35" scale bass. I like the longer scale alot and it seems to make a big difference in the playability of the B and E strings.

Reliability/Durability : 9
So far this bass has held up well. The hardware seems sturdy and well made especially for the price. I really like the finish on the guitar, it looks good and hides fingerprints and scratches very well.

I've been playing for over 20 years and decided to take a stab at a 6 string. This seemed a logical alternative to buying something used off of Ebay. It's the first instrument i've ever purchased without playing it first but beyond the initial setup problems i'm not disapointed. I also have a Spector 4 sting, a Fender 5 Sting and an Aria Pro 4 String. If it was stolen or lost i would probably buy another it's a great value. I like the neck (dispite it's tree trunk size) and the sound is better than i expected. I'm not a big fan of the pickups and would have prefered soapbars instead but overall it rocks.

I bought this 6-string bass new. It is a Korean-made bass--probably made in the same plant as Ibanez, Brice, Dean and heaven only knows what else. It has a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard, a maple neck w/ 2 truss rods, a satin-finished bubinga body (not just a veneer), a 3-band active EQ w/ push/pull active/passive volume knob and a p/u blend pot. The 9V preamp is surprising powerful--very dynamic--and the battery is easlily accessible via the pop out compartment. The 2 pickups are single coil (J-type). The hardware is very nice--all satin-finished chrome. The bridge is beefy and easy to adjust and change strings a-la the Spector-style pop in feature. Another thing that is really nice is the 35" scale--it makes a HUGE difference with the B string--great tension. The bass came with Allen wrenches for the truss rods and the bridge saddles and a 6' cheapy instrument cord--but hey, it's a nice touch!

Sound : 10
I play a variety of music--jazz, blues, gospel, funk, rock--whatever. This bass suits everything I do. It has an incredible sound for ANY price range--much less this one! With both pickups wide open, the tone is very thick & fat. The bridge pup alone is very crisp--I prefer to roll off the mids as it can be too squaky w/ the mids too high. The neck pup is very round and P-bass sounding. It has a very professional sound--very similar tone to John Patitucci's Yamahas or even V.L. Wotten's Foderas--I know...that's a BOLD statement--pick one up and prove it to yourself!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I'm surprised how well the bass is made and how well it was wet up when it arrived. I had to lower the action a bit for my tastes, but the intonation was acceptable (not perfect, but pretty good). The truss rods were set just right. The stock strings sounded great but they were very rough & sticky feeling--nothing a little string lube didn't help.

One of the pots was a little scratchy when I got it and the C string buzzed a litle bit at the saddle--both easy fixes. Otherwise, a very high-quality product.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass seems like it will last a long time. It has been very dependable thus far without a backup bass.

I have been an active bassist for over 15 years. I've toyed with the notion of getting a 6 for years but never could justify the expense. I found this one online and figured wht the heck--didn't have much to lose. It turned out to be an incredible bass. I am very pleased with it.
