21 fret 80.s 4 string bass - maple through neck - built like a thick bodied precision - volume and tone controls on passive pickup - also has midi pickup with 5 pots and a switch but as I have no lead I am unable to test it - cast brass bridge - brass nut - heavy brass machines - single 8 pole pickup - lovely thick neck like pre-cbs precisions - very heavy - natural wood finish - very easily adjustable truss rod (make sure to use the proper tool or you'll trash it)

I play all styles from country to metal and it works for me - its nearly as good as my westone thunder! I use a marshall VBA400 with an 8x10 cab and the guitar gives whatever sound I want except for the really deep earthquake lows. My only dislike is the weight, even with a 4" strap
Action, Fit, & Finish

As this guitar is old I do not look for flaws in finish - all I am intersted in is playability and sound - this guitar sounds as good as a precision and nearly as good as a westone thunder 1a and does not bend under load like a ricky ( my playing style is too hard for a rickenbacker)
Reliability/Durability

Played it live - stays in tune - good durable finish - I have to take a backup and a guitar tech because I break lots of strings (and I use heavy sets .110, .090, .070,.050)

No Opinion
I would not even try with the rarity of this guitar

I have been playing since 1963 - I bought this bass as a backup to my wonderful westone thunder 1a and it will remain a backup. I do like it very much though and prefer it to my ricky, my precision, my EB3 and my Yamaha
