Basic bass vey good for begginers.

Sound : 8
Sound is very good if the bass is set up right. Im using a Yorkville practice amp and a boss gt6 effects processor. Variety is not great but its good for simple to semi-difficult music.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Bass was set up quite well (bought used). Pickups were set up quite well. I do not believe that they are the original pickups but they sound good. The only flaws were that one of the screws holding the pickguard on was missing.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass will by far outlive me. The hardware seems more reliable than most basses and electric guitars. The strap nuts are solid but I would recommend getting strap locks. As of yet I have had the bass for just over five years and have not needed to adjust anything yet. I would solely rely on this bass for any gig I would play.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not neede yet.

Overall Rating : 10
This is by far the best bass I have ever played in regards to the many basses that I use for jazz or rock. The only bass I would rather play would be the Paul Stanley Apocalypse Bass.

Made in Indonesia, other than that I have no information whatsoever on it. It's got a maple neck and either a rosewood or sonokelin fingerboard, one P-style pickup, and volume and tone controls. A basic bridge. This is a bare-bones P-bass copy, but if that's what you're looking for, it has what you need. (And I've taken that into account on my rating of a 6, because that is exactly what I wanted).

Sound : 6
This suits my music style (punk rock/noise/rock) perfectly. I use it with a 100w Ampeg combo. It's noisy when you're not touching the strings. There's not much variety in the sounds it can make--the pickup is bright, but loud (louder than the Fenders, etc. I compared it with). I like the sound, but it is a little brighter and different from the "Fender sound." When you're playing live with two guitarists, though, the tonal subtleties of a bass are totally lost anyway. (My rating of a 6 assumes that you're not thinking about using this in a small jazz combo where every nuance can be heard.)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I don't know if it was the factory or the local music store, but the set-up on this bass was phenomenal. Perfect intonation, low action, good pickup height, plays like a dream. The fretwork and nut are top notch. This was more comfortable to play than any other bass in the store. The bass itself has some minor paint flaws around the neck pocket, but other than that it looks great.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Very solid. I added strap locks, and I've been careful with it, but I've never had any problems. It's lighter than a Fender, and feels it, but it is solid.

Customer Support : 6
It has a one-year warranty, which I haven't needed. I've contacted Samick via email, but it was tough to find their email address. For a company that makes over half the guitars in the world, I would have thought they'd be easier to contact. When I did find them, though, they were friendly and helpful. I giver them a 6, though, for being so hard to find.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing bass since 1986. I've owned fenders, Washburns, Peaveys, and now a Samick. My amps have all been Ampegs (with the exception of one Crate). If this bass were stolen, I'd buy another one IF I could find one as wonderful to play as this one--it really was very unusual for a bass in this price range. I love the way it plays, I love that it is totally basic with nothing extra. I compared it to Fenders, Peaveys, Yamahas, Squiers, OLPs, and Washburns, and for the money none of them could beat it (and it was set up so well it played smoother than all of them!) I'm giving it a 9 overall because it was exactly what I was looking for, nothing more and nothing less. It also shows that ANY guitar can play well if it is well set up and maintained.

Its a P-bass copy...cheap little thing..one volume and tone knobs, maple neck rosewood fretboard, 20 frets...i bought it used from a friend, it was missing a volume pot so i put one in and it works fine...

Sound : No Opinion
ok really, im a guitar player, not a bass, i bought this cause it was so cheap and it would be somethin to dink around with...but i do need a bass amp cause running it through my guitar amp isnt workin too well i cant turn it up loud enough without damaging it...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I guess it was ok since i got it used, didnt have strings or a volume knob so i had to put that into it..but not a big deal....

Reliability/Durability : 10
well it looks like its been around the block a few hundred times and still works fine...so its pretty solid...

Customer Support : No Opinion
Havent dealt with them, whats the point for a used piece of equipment??

Overall Rating : 5
I guess its alright, i mean it works...if it was new i wouldnt pay more then 100 for it...but i bought it used and i wouldve paid 70 just cause i could get a good deal on it...

Standard P-Bass copy (?), 20 frets, two volume and one tone control.

Sound : 5
I don't particularly like the sound of this guitar, it is way too noisy if you want to play it with the bridge pickup.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
The overall finish wasn't too bad, although there are some patchy bits such as fine sawdust still in the electronics cavity, a couple frets weren't fitted properly which heightened an ongoing action problem. The tuning keys aren't that smashing either and I find them to be a bit innacurate.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Apart from the tuning keys I'd say it's fairly reliable although I wouldn't gig with it.

Customer Support : 1
I have contacted Samick in regards to getting a spare volume knob (to replace one that broke off due to an accident) but never got a reply.

Overall Rating : 5
This was my first bass so when I bought it I wasn't looking around for something flash, just something to learn on. It did this job very well and has served me well. However after playing a few other basses which are in the more expensive category, it's clear that this is a bass that you get what you pay for.

I would recommend it to someone starting out and needing something to learn the ropes on but if you had a bit more money you could definently buy something with a little more quality.

It's a basic P-Bass copy. Mine has a plain brown stained body, Black pick gaurde, Rosewood fret board, Maple neck, and gloss black painted head stock, 34" scale neck. Simple P-bass controls volume and tone knobs. Made overseas (maybe Korean), have no idea how old it is I bought it used.
Was dirty and had crapy old strings on it when I got it but I saw something special for the price.

Sound : 7
I took it home, cleaned it up and put new strings on it. WOW! This Bass kicks ASS! Very punchy P-Bass sound with real drive and bite.
I put basic Epiphone round wound strings on it ($10 a set)and now it's amazing. Low E string has real Balls and whomp. Higher frets are articulate and clean. Second day I owned it I took it to a gig
Band mates looked at it kind of funny because I own two Fenders, a Deluxe P-Bass special, and an American Fretless Jazz. After one set the guys all wanted to know how much I paid for it. It actual sounds good.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The Bass was a dirty mess when I got it. All I did was Clean it, and put on new strings. The action is fairly good up to the 12th fret where it gets a little high off the fret board. The fret board has good feel, the rosewood is clean and smooth, the frets don't seem to have any dings or knicks. Someone had spilled soda or Beer on the bass once that was cleaned off the finish is pretty good with only a few scraches. You can even see the gain of the wood which is kind of nice.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Looks like one tough son of a bitch. I've only been playing it a week including two rehersals and a gig but everything is solid from the tunners to the bridge, even the strap buttons. This Cheap Bass actualy has a good feel to the neck and the body. I don't think I'll ever take this to a gig without a back but I have three other basses including a Yamaha TRB5 which I paid almost $1000 for so I am spoiled,
I real have high expectations.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Who knows what Samick would do to back this up, But I don't care.
I bought this cheap used bass in a pawn shop just to have a spare to kick around. My other basses all cost over $500 so I wanted this one to take to the beach and not worry about getting sand in it. This is the Bass I would loan to any kid who wants to get up and jam who forgot his ax.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for twenty years professionaly. I own all kinds of pro gear including three other basses, Fender, Yamaha. It sounds good played through my GK1001, SWR160, or my Pignose Hog30. This Cheap piece of wood could turn out to be the best value I ever got. For the price of $75. I will never complain. If I own it more than a year and it's lost of stolen I will just laugh and hope some kid is enjoying this bass out there somewhere. I have to give it a nine overall only because it is so good for the price I paid.

I think mine's a 1997, probably made somewhere in the Orient (but what isn't?). It's got 4 strings, 20 frets, and a P-pickup, 1 tone knob, 1 volume. Nice solid black finish that seems to resist scratches quite well. Maple neck and rosewood fretboard. Same style body as a Fender Precision.

Sound : 8
I play in a punk band, but I prefer metal. I thought it had a really flat sound when I first had it, but I was playing it with the factory strings on a Yorkville 50 watt amp. I traded it up for a Peavey TKO115s, and it's got a much fuller sound. Otherwise it's got a very clean sound, no fret noise or squeeks and pops. I can pretty much make any sound I want off it pretty cleanly. Good spacing on the strings. It's good in the studio, but I like it live in a big room.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
It came in pretty good shape, only a little chip missing on the body right by the neck. It did also have a rather annoying thumb rest which I removed. It's got nice action on it, no fret noise or anything. The tuning keys hold nice and stable, I rarely have to tune.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It seems quite durable, though I do baby it, cause it's my first and only bass. No nicks, dents, or major scratches. It's put up with quite a few shows, rain at outdoor shows, food and drink. The weight only bothers me when I'm sitting down and have it dangling. Live it doesn't bother me at all.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed to!

Overall Rating : 9
It's a good, stable bass. No surprises with it. If I needed another, they're easy to find. But I think my next musical investment is a certain 6-string Washburn I had my eye on. But never-the-less, it's a very good instrument that's been very good to me over the years!

This bass is a 1999 bass.I bought it new for $250.It looks to be
made in China. To be honest,it doesnt have that many features.
It is a four string.It has 2 cheap p-coil pickups.Very crappy
electronics. It has one volume and one tone control. It has a maple
neck and rosewood fingerboard, complete with 20 frets. The bass
has the cheapest damn tuners. It has a very bad bridge which is
not a string thru.I like the finish,which is black.It has a
p-bass copy body. The only thing that came with this bass is a
free Ernie Ball strap.

Sound : 1
Well I play Punk rock, and it doesnt have the type of tone like those
punk rock bassists that use,Fender P-basses,Musicman Stingrays,and
Ibanez ATK basses.See I have always wanted an Ibanez ATK series bass,
but I found out that they got discontinued."Ibanez, I hope you remake
the ATK series again, because I really would be happy!"This bass doesnt
really have that good of a sound.I dislike the sound of this bass.
If the tone control wasnt defective it would probably satisfy me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
To tell you the truth, most of the parts were set up poorly. The tone control has been defective ever since I purchased this bass.It has
good frets though. It has the cheapest hardware too.If your ever gonna buy a cheap bass, dont get a Samick LB-11.They suck!Ide rather have a
Jay Turser JTB-440 which im getting in a couple of months.

Reliability/Durability : 1
This bass is not that reliable. On this bass anything can go wrong.
I will hopefully never get another samick bass.
I do plan to fix up this bass.I will get a Fender neck w/maple fretboard,i plan to get cloverleaf tuners for it too.It will have
new pickups,new control knobs,new electronics,and a new pickgaurd.

Customer Support : 5
They would probably be friendly people, but they suck at taking time
to set up the instrument.

Overall Rating : 4
Ive played bass for a year now,and I have had this bass for a year.
In 2 months I will have a Jay Turser Musicman style bass.

My LB-11 is a 1997 (I think) pretty basic copy of a Fender Precision bass, made in Indonesia for the Korean Samick company. It has double cutaways, in much the same way as a Precision Bass, one pickup, one tone control and one volume control. It has 22 frets and is a 3 colour sunburst model. I'm unsure about the type of wood, but it weighs a ton compared to Squier Precision Basses I've used. It has a strangely large, black head which looks quite ugly, but is acceptable for the price I paid for it.

Sound : 8
The tones that this bass can produce are pretty limited, but it suits most of the rock, pop and punk that I play. I play through whatever I can get my hands on, usually quite large Marshall or Peavy studio amps, but I prefer to play through a bass amp. Sometimes it can produce a background hum, but this could be the leads I'm using or even the amplifier. Altering the tone control can provide either very flat or very distorted sounds, the more distorted sounds being suited to punk, perhaps, and the "flat" sounds being suited more to quiet music. I've no major complaints, but I haven't got anything much to shout about either - it's a pretty average sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Everything seemed fine. The pickup seems to produce a nice sound, the tuning pegs seem fine (they don't slip or anything). I haven't had any trouble with the tone or volume controls either. The only minor gripe I have is that the fretwire was slightly blackened in places, although if I really wanted to I'm sure I could use something to get rid of it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I play this guitar live and it seems pretty good. The finish withstands scratches extremely well, although I have made a few dents in the back of the body - nothing tragic though. I haven't had the strap fall off or anything and the hardware seems relatively reliable. The only gripe I have is that it is slightly heavy during gigs, although its not bad. I frequently play without a backup for one reason - I can't afford one.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had any reason to contact anyone

Overall Rating : 9
I'm quite satisfied with this bass for the time being. I bought it as my first bass, having played guitar for about 7 years. I'd perhaps like something which wasn't so heavy next time and maybe I'd buy something more original than a Precision Bass copy. However, you could do worse if you're looking for a cheap, reliable bass. I've had it for over a year, and put it through extensive practicing and gigging and it hasn't let me down (yet).
