This was a discontinued samick copy of a musicman 4 string.

Comes with a Standard Humbucker pickup much like the Musicman bass.

Controls are volume and tone knobs.

No clue what kind of wood the body is, but it is relatively light, and the neck is a med/dark rosewood.

The body finish is Tobacco sunburst.

The bridge is fairly descent, and as for the tuners, well, the tuners are rather cheap, this is before Greg bennet came to Samick and revamped the line with the grover tuners being standard on all models.

Sound : 10
The sound of this bass is an excellent sound. I use it to play in a death metal/melodic metal band and it certainly gets the job done!!

I originally had a fender Fretless Jazz Bass with the two jazz bass pickups in it, but the sound quality of that was a bit "muddy".
I upgraded to a bigger bass rig before getting this bass as well, and the muddiness of the jazz bass would shine through on the new rig.

The new rig consists of a GK RB700II 480 watt bass head, 2x10" Legion Sound cabinet, and a frankenstien 2x15" Fender cabinet with one soundtech and one jensen speaker inside (replacements) and running a bass pod pro through a behringer ultrafex pro before going into the amp.

After getting this new bass, i immediately had to LOWER all my volume settings!!! this bass screams for blood compared to my old jazz bass!! simply amazing sound that came out of this $150 instrument!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
not really anything of intrest to complain about here, everything was fine with the bass except for the cheap tuning pegs which i might replace anyways.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've played quite a few shows with this bass, (some other bands have even had to use my rig and/or bass quite a few times because it all just sounded better than theirs!) (ie: Tormented, Downnshiftt, and The Classic Strugle)

I still take my old jazz bass to shows just in case (because you never know when a string will break or something worse happen)

the only piece of hardware that doesnt seem like it will last would be the tuners,...but like i said, i can replace those.

Customer Support : No Opinion
havent had to deal with Samick yet.

Overall Rating : 10
Overall this is a badass bass, highly under-rated in my opinion. It honestly sounds better than my Fender Jazz Bass (and that damn thing cost me over $400) For the ratio of price to playability this bass by FAR surpasses most other cheap and low end brands (ie:silvertone, ESP, squire) and evem surpasses some of the higher end brands as well!!

I've been playing for going on 13 years and have owned many basses over the years, but this one is one of the chaepest and i would put it right up against some of the more expensive ones and it could definately hold its own!

Equipment list:
Bass Pod
Behringer Ultrafex Pro
Gallien Krueger RB700-II Mark 2 Bi-Amped Bass Amplifier
Rack power conditioner with LED
SKB 8 Space Rack
2x10" Legion Sound Cabinet
2x15" Fender cabinet (Frankenstien model)
