It's a P-bass, P+J passive pickups, 20 frets, 4 strings, maple bolt-on neck, 34' scale length. The body is heavy and made of PLYWOOD, 2 vol. controls, 1 tone. There are a standard string-thru bridge, cheap tuners.

Sound... It sounds bright but not deep. There is no warm tones.. I just compared it with Fender American Jazz bass and difference wasn't very big. I think this Samick doesn't sounts perfect, bun no bad. It's good.. It can produce all the standard sounds like P-buss, or J-bass when soloing bridge pickup.

I've bought it about 5 years ago, so I don't really remember factory set-up.. But all the settings could be easily made. Truss rod works well, bridge Ok too..

I can't imagine It's damaging.. It's a Terminator!! I drop it many times and it still stays in tune for a long time, neck also Ok. I don't really care for it much. It's a cheap bass, for daily job at any conditions.

I've been playing for about 6 years. It's my main bass, no back up.. I prefer minimal gear -- bass and amp. But sometimes I use Boss CS-3. I recommend this bass if you can buy it for $100, no more! Try to find it used.. It's not better or worser than any other buss under $200.
