Well, it's a 4 string bass manufactured in Indonesia... It has 24 frets (useless until you get as good as that Matt Freeman, the Rancid guy), 2 single coils pickups and one double coil by the bridge (wich is a very good bridge as well as the tuneheads... That bass never gets out of tune.) But it hasn't got a selector and it eletronics are passive... but you get used with it after a while (knobs are strong enough to endure your tone changes every 5 minutes and you can buy a Zoom 506 that lets your sound great).

Although the two single-coil pickups used to make a lot of noise, when I got my Zoom 506 it stopped to happen, so I won't blame the bass, i'd rather say it's my amp's fault (a Meteoro "Brazilian Sh*t" 30CB). It has a great range of sounds even being passive: you can get a warm jazz sound w/ the 2 single-coils and no tone, you can get a trash sound with the bridge double-coil and lots of tone, and a full bodied sound with every setting in the maximum. I play punk-raw-in-your-face-Brazilian-hardcore with it with the same satisfaction I play a punk-low-warm-tone Ramones covers with this Samick.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action was two low when I got it... but after a month of tries I fixed this problem readjusting the bridge and the neck. Fuck off Indonesia Samick workers... it's that hard to set a bass the right way.

Well, I am the type of guy who let the bass fall on the floor many times due to strap mistakes, the type of guy who blew up the E string on my second week with this bass trying to tune it, etc... So if it's ok until today (almost one yaer with me), it's a reliable bass.

No Opinion
I bet I would have problems if I had to use it... but who cares?

I love my bass. It's my first bass. If anyone try to steal it (everybody writes this thing...) I would beat it very hard, then I would rape his mother and get my baby back home (but I don't think anybody would try to steal it from me... maybe Cesar, o Matuto, but that's another history...)
