This is a candy apple red, 99 Samick 5 string fretted bass, with one volume, and two tone knobs. Korean made.

Sound : 7
Aside from the scratchey pots, and the slight rattle I hear, when played unplugged, it sounds preaty good, and plays nice.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Original setup was fine.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Hasn't let me down after two years of playing, (not gigging).
The Electronics are cheap.

I can't knock this guitar, I basicly fell in love with its looks, and
it plays nice. my only complaint is I think I paid to much.

This is a 1999 Samick 5 string fretted bass made in Korea. It has a split p and a j style pickup. It has two volume knobs (one for each pickup) and one tone knob. Im not for sure but I heard Samicks have Seymour Duncan pickups But the ones on mine say Samick on them. It has all chrome hardware, enclosed keys, metal knobs and an enclosed bridge. It has a black body with a maple neck with rosewood fretboard and has a very nice feel to it. I did not see any flaws to this bass and has a nice sound any where from clear to deep thumping.

Sound : 10
I play anything from speed metal to dark metal with some blues and jazz thrown in there. I play through a zoom 506 bass processor and a Fender BXR-25, And this bass through the zoom or even alone can handle all types of music anything from Bright and Punchy to Dark and Demonic this bass can handle any sound your looking for. This is a clean sounding bass and is a very nice looking bass. I do not have any dislikes about this bass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The factory setup on this bass was excellent. The action was nice and low so you dont have to strain your fingers. The j pickup was a little high, but a couple of turns of a screwdriver and its fine. This bass had no flaws that me or anyone else can see. No sharp corners, no chips, everything is very tight and the hardware is very nice.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass can handle me playing metal and jumping around this bass is built to last. I have a Planet waves locking strap and the Strap locks on this are perfect they are almost like a mushroom a fat head and a slim but solid stem. I have been playing it about 2 months and the only thing I need to do is tune it every now and then after playing. I would definetly use this on a gig without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not had to deal with them.

I have been playing about 4 years on and off. I finally upgraded to a 5 string. I also have a Yamaha RBX-260 4 string. I have played Ibanez and was gonna buy a Soundgear but decided with this one. It retails at about 560.00 so I got a hell of a deal. If it were stolen I would buy another in a heartbeat but probably a six string neck thru Samick.
