Good gig bag but hard case would have been better received

Sound : 9
Good range of sounds. Well suited for a range of styles.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Lovely silky smooth neck is what sold it to me. Greta finish and action. Solid build.

Very solid. Straplock compatibles were a bonus.

Playing all sorts of stuff for nealy thirty years. I spent a day in Birmingham with my son trying all sorts of basses including Warwicks, Fenders, loads of them and this was clearly the most pleasing to play in the price range and better than many much more expensive basses, largely due to the exceptionally smooth neck and the quality of finish on the fretboard and the ace set up. Makes you want to pick it up all the time. My son got blisters the first week cause he couldn't put it down!

Made in Germany in 2007 (apparently they are hand build by nine guys over there). This is the fretless version of the 4 string standard sporting a single MM style power humbucker pickup by Sandberg. It has a push pull selector on the volume knob for active/passive mode & knobs for treble, mid & Bass.

The body is made out of ash finished in "Blue burst" (inc white pick guard)with a maple neck & rose wood fretboard which includes dots & half lines to help you pay the thing in tune. Hardware is Sandberg's own & is made out of chrome. It comes complete with gig bag.

Sound : 10
I play a lot of pop & rock stuff But also some jazz through an Ashdown ABM300 & 1x15 2x10 ABM cabs. There doesn't seem to be any noise from this thing even with the treble turned right up. Sound-wise this bass is stunning, it has a very big warm sound with a touch of brilliance as you'd expect from a fretless but is richer & more flexible than a lot of other fretless basses I've played. Crank this thing up & it can sound absolutely thunderous but also is very adjustable so can be used for most things.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Set up was perfect, & the hand carved neck is silky smooth & wonderful to play. Pickup adjustment was spot on and the overall finish of the bass was top draw with no sign of poor materials or workmanship & believe me I have looked!

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a fairly heavy chunk of wood! Hardware looks bulletproof & it stays in tune. So far so good & no reason to think it won't stand the test of time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Can't comment as I've had no problems. The store I bought from says it comes with a Sandberg lifetime warranty, I'm not sure what this covers though.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for approx 10 years & have played a number of basses including Fenders, MM & I also currently play a Warwick thumb BO5.

In comparison to my Warwick this bass seems as good or better in pretty much every department. The workmanship appears to been on a par with the very best & the depth of tone puts many similarly priced basses to shame. The real selling point for the Sandberg is its playability, the neck is wonderful, smooth & very quick. If it were to be stolen? Yep, I'd definitely get another & will probably get myself a fretted version also.

This bass was made in 2001 in Germany. It's the fretted standard version with 4 strings, 24 frets and a single MM-style pickup by Delano. The tone controls are treble, middle, bass plus the volume control which is a push/pull selector. If you pull the knob the bass plays in passive mode, while the active electronic is working with the knob pushed down.

The body is ash with a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard. The body has a dark blue finish where the wood shines through and there is a white pickguard which lshines in a somehow pearly look. The tuners are made by Gotoh and the strappins are so too. They are compatible to Schaller Security Locks. The hardware is chrome.

I bought this together with a gigbag.

I play pop, rock, hardrock and some metal through an Ashdown MAG250 and and 1x15 and 2x10 cabinets. The instrument isn't noisy at all. On standard settings it has a very balanced warm sound. When you play with the sound controls you can have whatever you want. Stage or studio won't harm this bass. It plays and plays and plays...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I bought this one used and the setup was without fault. There was not a single ding/dong/whatever and it's still looking great... ;-)

Reliability/Durability : 10
You can definitely play this bass live. It will stay in tune forever, the hardware is solid as a rock. I would definitely use it without backup if there's a fresh set of strings on it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never had to deal with customer service. But since Sandberg is quite a small company I heard that they always try to satisfy their customers.
