I bought a Diamond Series Custom-4 from Guitar Center in Crestwood, MO. The bass was built in 2000 in Korea. I'm not sure about the pickups, but there are two humbuckers which look awesome. It has a black finish with maple neck which plays effortlessly. 24 frets are a plus, and the control knob configuration is perfect. I got a nice backpack-style gig bag with it with enough room in its two-buckle pocket for all my gear.

The sound could be better, although the punch and bite of this bass are outstanding. I play through a Peavey head and cabinet with two JBL 15" woofers. With a little effect, the sound is relatively good. The control knobs are well-placed. The tone controls have a pause when you get to the halfway point. I really like this feature. The pickup setup make this a great bass for the stage, if you are an active bass player as I am.

This was the best playing bass under $1000 in the store,as told by all the employees. When I plyed it for the first time, I hole-heartedly agreed. The action is near flawless, and the accessibility of all 24 frets is something that is rare these days. The pickups are perfectly placed for a thumb-rest no matter where you pluck the strings. There were no apparent flaws whatsoever.

I've played three live shows with this bass without incident. The hardware is very durable and seems like it will last a long time. SThe strap buttons are solid, and the bridge side is raised slightly(about 2 inches above where it normally is). This feature make it extremely comfortable to hold. I would and do gigi with this bass without a backup.

I've been plying guitar for 19 years. I also own a Washburn N2 Nuno Bettencourt model and an Ibenez Sabre. I play those through a Crate Blue Vodoo 120W head and Mesa Boogie cabinet with 2 Celestian Black Shadows and 2 JBL loudspeakers. I had a Parker Fly Deluxe in layaway at Guitar Center, but joined a new band as a bass player. So I thought, "why do I need another guitar?" So, I bought the bass instead.
If this bass were stolen, I would definitely buy another Schecter. After plying every bass in the store, I kept coming back to this one. I would love to get a 5 or 6-string next.

This baby was made in 2000. You're looking at 24 frets of reachable range. It's has two EMG HZ's, active, which not just sound awesome but they look awesome as well. The neck is maple and smooth. the fretboard is rosewood and although i personally like maple fretboards this one will not leave you dissatisfied. It had LOTS of very nice colors to choose from. It also has all black hardware and the tuning configuration, although confusing at times, is quite convenient on the bottom of the head as opposed to the usual top style. Lastly, it came with a gig bag. Now, normally I would have been somewhat dissappointed about getting a gig bag but this one was nice! It's black inside and out, normal on the outside, but plush on the inside.

Well, it sounds great playing on a really nice amp. But, I'm not the wealthiest person in the world so I played it on a crappy rogue amp I bought, I think the wattage was like 50 or something. Now, because of that i was getting this really strange high pitch noise coming out of it. My first thought was "maybe it's the amp?", but after testing it on other amps and testing other basses on that amp i came to the conclusion that the Schecter was at fault. So, basically that is what hurt me on sound. I'm assuming it is simply because the bass is so nice and my amps are so crappy.

Man, this thing came to my house in perfect condition. She was wrapped well and it came quite playable. The only thing I noticed was that the knobs (all four of them) were pushed up against the body so close that at times you could feel them scraping. I found that to be quite strange so i took them off and inspected them very thoroughly. Basically i came to the conclusion that I should simply put them back on, but not so close to the body. So, basically what i'm saying is if you buy this make sure your knobs aren't scraping.

This bass is rugged! I'm a pretty big clutz and i drop things and it hasn't left one nick or ding on it. Don't let it fool you, it feels mightly fragile but i've noticed that it sure can take a beating. Sadly though the back scratches fairly easy so i wouldn't wear a belt when you play it. There is no rattling, vibrating, or anything that usually bothers people about basses. The strap button is real cool, you'll like this: the top strap button is not at the end like a lot of basses, and it's not on the back near the bottom of the neck. It's actually directly behind the top horn. This was found to be quite convenient if you have a problem with your strap coming off.

Well, with the bass was some paperwork on the warranty. I can't seem to find the papers now i but i believe it came with a one year factory warranty. Other than that i know nothing about the company.

I'm going to say it's an eight simply because of the fact that no bass is perfect. Overall it's a great bass. I've had it for several months but i played it in stores for about a year before i bought it and after researching for a while i decided I'd buy it. I'd most definitely suggest this bass for someone that's looking for a little different look. The feel and sound is basically the same as any other high quality bass but the looks are unmistakable. If it were lost or stolen i probably would not rebuy it simply because it would take me forever to save up that much money again and by the time I did I'd have myself convinced to buy something different.
