Four string bass(hence the elite "4"), 24 frets, Made in Korea.
# Neck-thru, multi-laminate construction
# Mahogany wings
# S-TEK bridge
# EMG-HZ pickups
# Two-band active EQ

Pretty basic bass setup, The gold hardware looks nice on the black cherry finish.

Sound : 10
I play mostly punk/experimental music but i do dable into metal a bit. This bass is really versatile. I can use the bridge pickup and get a really nice punchy punk tone and then just turn up the neck pickup and get a real banging low metal sound, the emg hz pickups work great.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I cant comment on the factory setup because i always get my basses a pro setup before i use them so this is just on the finish.

the finish was flawless. I got the black cherry finish and its so slick and smooth to play yet it always maintains that great glossiness. Also i play with a pick and this finish does not scratch easy.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've had this bass for a little over a year and i have play significantly with is both in the studio, at local venues, and even on a 2 week east coast tour and it has never once let me down.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for a little over 5 years and i have had a number of basses in the past but this thing blows them all miles out of the water.
if it were lost or stolen I wouldn't even think twice about going out and getting a new one right away.

this bass is miles ahead of anything else in this price range and it is perfect for the intermediate player, expert players might want to upgrade to the studio version but I'm definitely going to be a Schecter player for life.

2003 model w/EMG pup's/very nice black cherry finish/good weight of a little under 9 lbs. It is Korean made but this bass proves to me that they've got their quality act together...I'd buy another Korean made bass after this experience. Body style is a little clunky, perhaps, though not a problem , I don't think...

Sound : 9
It tends to have a brighter sound...more modern...more suited to slap...doesn't have the deep, deep open E I love but the sound is very nice and consistent across and up and down the fretboard. I was afarid that it might be noisy...the Schecter's I'd played in stores always seemed to have some electronics issues...but this one is very quiet.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action was excellent right out of the box...very tight but with no buzz at all...plays very well...I wish I could walk into almost any dealer and find a bass hanging on the wall that is set up this well!

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've played it live and it is fine. It seems dependable. I would and have used it on gigs without backup. Seems very well made to me. Time will tell...

Customer Support : 8
They seem responsive but that remains to be proven if I do need a repair

Overall Rating : 9
For the price it is an excellent bass. I'd buy it again at that price. I played several in local stores and they all were set up well...all have the same basic EMG config...
The best thing about this is the great playability and set up...and it maintains tune...I barely have to tune it on any regular basis...just tweak it...

Probably Made in 2002; Korea, 24 frets'; maple over mahogany; 2 EMG Pickups with active eq; Black Cherry finish; black Grover Tuners; 34" Scale; Medium Width Neck. Very well featured.

Sound : 4
Lots of noise when the treble control is turned up. while a lovely bass, this instrument has no tone to it's sound; it creates bass frequencies, but there is no color and no richness.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Set-up was decent; there were some dings in the body.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion

Customer Support : 9
I have a Schecter Telecaster, and they are great to deal with; I just hate the sound of this bass.

Overall Rating : 6
Schecter is a wonderful company and they make awesome guitars, but this bass has no soul. It is pretty and plays smooth, but there is no bark and no bite. Give me a vintage Gibson any day of the week. For $389, not a bad instrument. Not good enought to keep-I returned it the day after I purchased it and got my money back.

Made in Korea but "set up to play" in the US. Set in construction with a mahagony/figured maple body. The bass has a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard (34" scale/24 medium fret). Grover tuners with two PASSIVE EMG HZ pu's and active eq elctronics. Two eq controls, one tone control and volume.

Sound : 9
I play this bass through a small Crate practice amp and a Berrhinger BX1200 amp. I also use a Blue Tube 903 pedal. I can get a variety of sounds with this set up: warm jazz, rock, and funk (slapping and popping). This bass is very musical and easy to play. Iowned a Squier bass at one time and hardly touched it (I am more of a guitar player), but now I find it hard to put this bass down. Through my modest set up this bass sounds great, not the best, but for the price, a steal.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Beautiful to look at when you can put it down, the bass has been working perfectly from the time I got it home and for the past 6 months.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Feels solid. I play it almost everyday and gig with it about once a week. I don;t forsee any problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I heard Schecter was undergoing some changes. Inquire before buying.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing guitar and bass for about 30 years now. I compared this bass to a Korean made Warwick bass before I bought, but found the Schecter to be far superior in tone. I was a little bugged that the bass has active eq but passive pick up's, but other than that, I find this bass very musical, easy to play and fun to play.

This is a new 2001 model. It is a 34" long scale bass. Has cream Binding on the neck and head stock. The body is mahogany with a carved flame maple top. Has a Black cherry [see through] finish. really beutiful! The neck appears to be set rather than neck through. Has 2 EMG soap bar style pickups with a 2 band active control. Black hardware / Grover tuners.

Sound : 10
This thing sounds great!!! It has a fantastic low end growl, very gutsy, ballsy sound. Nice punch.

I play everything from hard rock to blues, it works for everything. Mine is quite heavy, there were two in the store to chose from,[Schecters tend to vary a lot in weight, which means to some extend they will vary in sound as well] I chose the heavier one.

Pick ups are not noisey at all. very responsive full bodied sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This is the best part, the neck in fantastic. The fret work is perfect. I have not adjusted the action, it was set up perfectly from the factory. Action is low without fret buzz. The neck is quite slim, very easy to play. The finish is flawless like all schecters I own [I have 7 schecter guitars and the one bass].

What can I say, as you can tell I love Schecters. There is not better made or better playing instrument for the money. No one else even comes close.

Reliability/Durability : 10
What can I say, I haven't had it very long but it is built like a tank. I have never had any problems of any kind with a Schecter product.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Again I have never had the opportunity [or the need] to use their support service. I did buy this from Guitar Center. I have always had excellent support from them.

Overall Rating : 10
Over all, I have to give this bass a 10. The sound, the action, the finish, it's perfect. If it were stolen I would definately replace it.

Again be aware, Schecters tend to vary a lot in weight, this is not necessarily a bad thing, it is all a matter of what you prefer. I have some Schecters that are light, some are heavy, they all sound good but a bit different. A heavier guitar or bass tends to have a little more low end punch and top end snap. I like that. It is just comes with the price of some extra weight.

I still stand by what I said earlier. I love Schecters. They are the best value, fit and finish for the money. You cannot go wrong with this product.

Probably made in 2001, 24 frets, 4-String. Beautiful dark cherry finish. Active electronics with EMG pickups.

Sound : 10
Just bought the bass about an hour ago at Guitar Center, so I've only played it at the store. But I spent a while with it and was very satisfied with the tone. Plenty of clarity and punch with a very "woody" sound that I didn't find in other basses. Lots of bottom end, but not too much. Incredible sound. I can't believe this bass only cost $525! It sounds (and looks) like a $1,200 bass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Everything looks good so far. Of course I've only played it for about 30 minutes! But I gave it a thorough inspection before buying and found no flaws.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Feels super solid. Finish is very well done and all componenets seem very durable. Only time will tell. Wouldn't hesitate to use this live with no backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion

I've been playing about 6 years. Originally started playing on a Jazz Bass, then bought an American Jazz Deluxe. Lately I've been using a Guild Pilot 4-String, which has a great sound but looks very 80's. So I wanted to upgrade initally on looks, but didn't want to sacrifice tone. I got the best of both worlds with this bass. If it were stolen I'd buy a new one immediately (before Schecter raises the price).

I believe this is a new 2000 model. 24 frets has two diamond shape markers on the 12th fret. there are still dots on the side of the fretboard to show the others. Comes with two EMG-HZ soapbar style pickups, active EQ. Each pickup has master volume and tone control. This bass is "neck through body" style. Quilted maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, gold colored bridge, knobs, and tuners. Got a hardcase with it.

Sound : 10
This bass was a major improvement over my former bass, which was generic, the action was high and the strings were hard to fret. This bass solved those problems. Easily fretted anywhere on the bass, since each pickup has its own volume and tone, a lot of combinations can be gotten with this. If you turn the volume knobs both all the way up, and the tone knobs all the way up, my Fender Bassman 25 was shaking the floor and kept going into overdrive. Sounds good slapping, popping, and fingering. I compared this to a Fender Custom Jazz in the shop (which cost almost 1000), Sound and price blew the Fender away. In another shop i tryed a Tobias Growler, it was very nice, but expencive.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action is low like i like it, not so low the frets rattle, just perfect. Pickups are very powerfull. No flaws that i've seen yet in it...the neck was great, you can really move on it. the finish is dark cherry...very nice looking.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This is going to be a problem area for me to grade this bass, because i just started out in a band, and havent used it much. I would say this bass is quite sturdy, the knobs, bridge, tuners are all metal. Strap buttons are sturdy. I havent gotten the truss rod adjusted yet because i just bought it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for only a couple of months, but i have learned quite a bit. The only other bass i own was some generic brand i've never heard of, the neck was really messed up. If this were stolen or lost, i would buy this again if i wasn't making much money. Don't get me wrong, this is a great bass...but if i were getting a lot of money for playing, I would probably get one of those undoubtably sturdy Modulus basses with the graphite neck. I compared this bass to ErnieBall MusicMan Sterling, Fender Precision, Fender Custom made Jazz, Tobias Growler. This thing blew the fenders away, MusicMan basses are good sounding, but more expencive, same case with the Tobias Growler. The only thing i wish this bass had was a mid knob on the EQ.
