Schecter 4-string 24 fret bass from the stiletto diamond series. Made in 2003 in China.
Basswood with maple top body, Maple/Rosewood fingerboard. Bolt on constr. (6 bolts).
Pickups are 2 Schecter Bass Humbuckers w/ Active EQ circuit.
Controls: 1 master, 1 blend, 2 Active Band EQ
Thin neck, jumbo frets. Comes with a (weak) plug-in cable, and in Black Cherry, Honey Sunburst, and supposedly also in Electric Blue and See Thru Black.
The bridge and the nut should be replaced. Pickups..hmm optional, there not bad or something but some might consider getting better active pickups.
Those are the only cons. Otherwise it rules! You won't have to replace the strings, they rock!
Sound

Great sound! It doesn't need foot-switches or extreme adaptations, just an amplifier does the trick to get a clean, but mean bass sound like you've never heard before! Once you get adapting though, like adding distortion or chorus, it might go wrong depending on the type of amp you're using...my 150 EUR didnt do the trick, and it didn't sound that well. Because the sound is so clean and neutral, it could be fitted into every style of music. I like both Jazz and Rock/Metal, so having a versatile bass like this owns!
Action, Fit, & Finish

It rattles like CRAZY! Lucky me, the guy at the music store took care of it right away, without charging me anything. Everything else is fitted perfectly. Oh, the template on top of the nut (thingy that says: diamond series) is screwed on with 1 screw. Therefore, it might need glueing, else it will move from side to side and make an annoying little vibrating sound.

Again, no idea. Got a 7 or 8 day store warranty, and about a year manufacturer.

I've played a Farida bass...yeah i don't know that manufacturer either, sounds Turkish, and alot of squier J's. Squiers (being the cousin of Fender) are known for their quality, and i totally agree. those Schecters however, are a whole other story. Once you play one, you immediately hear the difference. Squier JB's have this robotic "aftertone", almost like there's some kid with fever inside that gets hurt everytime you hit the string, that tell you that the electronics aren't nearly as good as Schecters'. Then again, they cost some more, too. This particular bass is like some posse street fight; First it punches you in the stomach with his looks, then when you are on the floor, it kicks you one last time with it's sound.
