Got this sweet thing in the early 90's. Traded a used Peavey plus a grand. It's a graphite neck on a wood body. Nice met red finish. EMG's with volume, blend and tone. Just beautiful. Was looking for something with a neck that would not move as my Carvin does (the Carvin is excellent live or studio / was my #1 before this one). DB drop D tumer. Cool. I use it often.

Quiet electronics. Warm sound. Easy to play. Thin neck. Currently using a SWR Bass 350 (red) and Carvin 2x10 and 1x15 cabs. I can get a grinding pick tone to a fuzzy bridge fingerstyle. Yummy. Dub is there too.

Oh my god. The easiest, most compfy motherscratcher I ever held. Thank you Ned. It's funny, in the old days, I'd practice with my Godin Z1 which feels like a P bass (wide neck in comparison). Move to the Steinberger, it's like running in sneakers vs. boots. The action is nice and low. Finish is great. A small divit has been doug into the finish above the bridge pickup, just where your thumb might push. Must have pushed hard. 15 or so years. I look at it as a badge. Had it professionally set up twice in these years. No probs.

Thank you God. Stays in tune between string changes. Cold? Hot? No prob! Thanks Ned. Playing live? The easiest bass to hold on a small stage. Or to move. Will not whack the guitar player. Never busted a string, and I've hit it hard.
One issue, the original D string claw failed twice. You knew it was coming as the pitch would slip for a couple days....and then boom. Funny it was only the D claw. Got a full set of four replacements from Music Yo around eight years ago and no problems since. They are a bit smaller than the originals though. They swapped in no prob.

Other than than the D claw, no prob here. Like one previos review said, like a cockroach. It seems it cannot be killed. It will surely outlive me.

Just great. If stolen, I'd be crushed. It's my favorite possession. If the house was burning down, I'd rush in to get it. Nuff said?
