2003 Shipped from Tennesse and was assembled in Korea. Nice 4-String perfect for beginners. 24 frets, thru-body, it has a bass, treble, and tone knobs. It has "Select" humbuckers which are very similar to the ones on the Gibson Zakk Wylde Bullseye. Black finish and holds up awesome. Included a gig bag and I would look into buying a hard case just because the gigbag hasn't lasted a year yet. But I do a lot of playing so....
also... it's headless which is awesome!!!

Sound : 9
Has an awesome rock and blues style to it and gives a awesome slap and pop feel. The pickups are sweet... they don't pickup any other crap. You can play anything with this bass... it just depends on how much you are willing to do to it. I didn't hardly do anything and it rocks hard!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
It wasn't set up from the factory at all. The strings were flush up against the fret board. But the less manual labor for them the cheaper it is so that's good. Otherwise the pickups, the electronics were awesome.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I do play it live and I have never had anything go wrong. Except for the input got a little loose but I fixed that with my hand. The hardware has lasted really good for me and it's all really heavy duty stuff no crap.

musicyo.com kick a$$ they are really supportive and everything. If you have a problem talk to their customer support and they'll respond in 24 hrs or less

I've been playing for 5 years now... i own a Behringer 100 bass amp, a ampeg 150 amp, a bass head (i don't recall the watt), and a half stack. I also have a behringer effects processor and that is really fun! I have a Toby 5-String, a Fender acoustic guitar, a ibanez guitar, and a Gibson SG Angus Young. I would probbly buy something else just because I got sick of the headless part and how small it was. o yea... CHEAP!!!! (cost)

2003 Spirit XP-2, I'm thinking Korea is where this bass was made.

4-String- maple construction? It's finished in black who can tell for sure?

One volume control per pickup one tone control. Two EMG select humbuckers/passive.

Thick looking gloss black finish.

Typical XP body shape/headless w/tuners at the bridge. Hefty neck shape longscale.

Comes w/gigbag. I wish it had a case though. Allen wrench and cheapo cord included as well.

I was stunned at how good this bass sounds when I first plugged it in. It suits my playing style (which varies from lead bass to chaotic noise) just fine.

I run this bass direct through a Sansamp Bass DI into a P.A. with 15" spkrs. I use Digitech's X-series bass chorus and a Dunlop MXR Flanger for effect.

I notice no noise at all with this bass. It has a warm and dark sound depending on what you pluck it with. Sounds good using a pick but not bad with fingers either. You can get a good variety of sounds depending how you manipulate it. Slap works well too. The tone and volume controls help alot.

You could use this bass for either stage or studio.

I really like the shape and design of this bass. IMHO the design is what makes this bass so enjoyable to play. It's absolutely portable and very comfortable to just sit down, flip out the leg rest and just go to town with. The sound does not disappoint either. I bought another XP-2 just to use with tapewound strings.

I do wish they made a case for this bass as I do not like lugging it around in a vulnerable gigbag.

The bass arrived needing minor bridge adjustment to get the strings up a bit.

Pickups needed no adjustments.

This bass is suprisingly well made. I noticed no flaws in workmanship even with the "Korean" stigma that some people disdain. This is a sturdy, well made bass that anyone should be proud to own.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass would certainly withstand live playing.

The hardware is quality stuff, not much to go wrong.

The finish is durable looking and thick. I believe it will last a very long time.

Strap buttons seem sturdy, you have to attach the back button which is no problem at all.

I do depend on this bass. The truss rod can be adjusted at the top of the neck with the included allen wrench. Another nice design feature of this guitar. Ned Steinberger did a fantastic job in the design of this instrument.

I would never go without a back up at a gig, not good business. You just never know.

I bought this from MusicYo. They have been reliable and helpful in the past and for an online "clearance house" type of store I would recommend buying from them due to the instruments they offer at a significant reduction in cost.

Not sure on warranty but I would not hesitate in returning the item if need be.

I have been playing a long time, I own enough gear to have to insure against loss or theft.

I can think of nothing more to ask for in this bass other than a hardshell case.

I would replace it quickly if lost or stolen.

I love the design and sound of this bass. It is my favorite bass and I have a Rick 4003/Rob Allen MB-2/Epiphone Jack Casady and a Warmoth precision tele bass.

For the money you can't go wrong with one of these. It's hard to get in a black finish though. They go fast. I have one in white with tapewounds that's killer as well.
