This is an awesome bass. I play mostly heavy metal (i.e. Metallica, Megadeth) and it sounds amazing with it. I use a Peavey Microamp and even though it isn't the best amp it gets great tone out of it. I occasionally use a Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Pedal and that sounds just as great. Acoustically, it is quiet because it has such a small body but I can still hear it. It has a Rich sound that is perfect for the School Jazz Band I am in. Even though I don't play the widest variety of music, my brother has played it and it sounds great with funk, rock, jazz, blues, etc. I have used it both on stage and in the studio(my house) and it sounds great either way. It has two EMG Select Pickups which sound amazing no-matter what music I am playing. I just love the sound it gets.

It came from the studio almost ready to play(it was cold so the bass was too cold to be played) but otherwise it was pre-tuned before being sent to me. The pickups sounded amazing right when I started using it. It was basically flawless when it came to me except it was very very cold. It contours to my body perfectly, it is also very light and small and that makes it look amazing with the Honeyburst finish I have. And it is headless so it is confortable on both the neck and the body.

This bass has defineatly withstood my live playing. The hardware is constructed extremely well and seems like it will last me for a very long time. The hardware is also very neat. The finish is a clearcoat that doesnt seem to show ANYTHING. It doesn't show handprints and I am sure it wouldn't show scratches or dents easily because it is such a amazing color that seems to show nothing but the honeyburst coating. My strap never ever falls off because it seems to be angles so it is less likely to fall off. I have owned it for 5 months and I have not needed to have anything adjusted and I have taken it in to a local store before any major performance. I would defineatly use this without a backup at a gig, it plays so solid and the double-balled string NEVER COME OUT OF TUNE.

I have been playing for 2 years and I started on a falling apart Cruise 4 string bass. I got rid of it and replaced it with the Steinberger. I also own an Epiphone 5 string Les Paul Standard. If my Steinberger was stolen I would probably be very very hurt, but I would replace it as fast as I could if that happened. I love the DB Tuner, which downtunes the E-String to B. I use it all the time.
