Great Feature is spoke wheel for adjusting truss rod. It is easy to access at base of neck and far easier to use. GREAT IDEA
Here is a link to see it in a picture http://www.swingguitars.com/groovekingalder_large.html
Has everything a Jazz Bass needs and gets +1 for the easier truss rod adjustment feature (8 for jazz +1)
Sound

Tone knob is very effective nice range of sounds. I tend to play mostly fingerstyle and fits my needs very well. A friend really liked the slap tones it was putting out (and I bet the Ash model would be even better for this)
Pickups are decently quiet for single coils and have a nice strong output.
Sounded strong live and recorded well. Being a passive jazz bass it isn't capable of some of the sound variety of an active jazz but (IMHO) records nicer.

Set up and build quality were great! I can't spot any flaws at all. The hardware is solid and the finish is great. They machine heads are rock solid. Back to back nights of playing 2-3 hours and still in tune.
Bridge seems solid as well.
Action was set at Swing Custom Shop and was exactly to my liking.
Reliability/Durability
:
No Opinion
Would certainly gig without a back up.
Recent purchase so durability is unknown but the build and hardware quality seems to suggest that this would not be an issue.
Would love to have a deluxe gig bag available for it.
Will update with rating after some time and abuse.

This might be the best part..the guys at Swing are great. Very helpful, knowledgeable and seem to really care about making a great product. They have a small team of craftsmen working on these instruments and the quality control is very high. Need an adjustment..just bring it in and be taken care of.

Playing about 15 years. Owned a few Fender Jazz and P basses (USA and Japan), Lakland Skyline P, Peavey T-40 and a number of others.
Love the build quality and sound. Wish it had a deluxe gig bag available.
Compared it with several other Jazz basses and companies. It was a clear winner
I alo played the Swing Active Jazz bass and it was stunning as well and the pre-amp/versatility was shocking.
