4 string with 20 frets. The tuners are pretty good, volume and tone controls (1 each) with a p style split pickup. Plywood body, short scale bolt-on neck. Its got some ok tuners on it. This is my first bass. I can not tell you how many times it has fallen since I got it used from a pawn shop but it stayed perfectly tuned. i have finally bought a stand for it. no droppsies yet.
Sound
:6
It sounds ok for most types of music. I get it pretty loud with no feedback what so ever. It's great for small rooms, or anywhere you would be close to your amp. overall the sound is worthy of a learner and maybe some novices... until they upgrade.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:9
This bass is extremly easy to play. I had to adjust the pickup height and lower the bride saddles as well. I can go up and down the neck with no problem at all. The string spacing was at a point where you hit the string you wanted, and you could switch to another sting with no problem as well. This instrument is very easy to play. It plays in tune, the action is easy, and the short scale makes the distance between frets very much like a standard electric guitar. Straight, flat neck that has never needed adjusting. Totally basic, nothing fancy, but everything works.
Reliability/Durability

The bas has withstood several rock sessions with my band and guest artists. The hardware seems durable. The finish is tough and doesnt take any crap from anybody. The strap buttons are solidly fixed and have not loosened up a bit. I need not to adjust neck/truss rods or anything. If I had mega bucks... This would be a backup.

I'm rating this for what it is: A simple, easy to play beginning instrument. It stands up to abuse without repairs or adjustments. Stayed in tune. The jack stayed tight. Good, cheap choice for a beginner bass. This was my first bass, and it was great to learn on because of it's easy playability. However, I getting a new bass, and the Synsonics is going to be my back up. I like playing bass too. I wish I had gotten a better deal at the pawn shop. $100 for it and the amp. i would have loved to get it for 60 to 80 bucks... but, we all cant find the best deals in town and give a way prices.I would never smash this wonder piece of equipment on any stage... unless I had..... ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!! HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA !!!!!!!

20 frets. Double cutaway. laminated top. 1 tone and 1 volume control. Passive P-style pickup. Rosewood fingerboard, I suspect.

Sound was not really an issue, except that the pickups and controls worked. This was bought as a beginner jam instrument for junior-high-age kids. And it worked great for that. You would never even consider using this in performance, and that's not what it's for.

It survived kids in a jam room without repairs or adjustments. No, you don't want to perform with this instrument, but that's not what it's for.

4 string with 20 frets. 1 volume and 1 tone control with a p style split pickup. The tuners are pretty good, I drop it a lot, and I rarely have to retune it. It has a short scale, and that helped me to learn on, since it was my first bass.
Sound

It sounds ok for most types of music, but once you get into slapping, it doesn't sound too good, because the pickups cut out the highs. I could get it pretty loud, and I only got it to feed back one time, and that was because I turned the treble up all the way on my amp. But since it doesn't feed back very much, it's great for practicing in a small room, or anywhere you would be close to your amp.

The string spacing was at a point where you hit the string you wanted, and you could switch to another sting with no problem as well. I had to lower the bride saddles, because the strings were set too high in the factory. I also had to adjust the pickup height.

The finish wasn't all that great. It got scratched quite easily. The hardware seems pretty good, but I replaced the strap buttons, because my strap lost them almost constantly. I would definatly have a backup for it if I played it on stage, because the pickups lost the signal a lot, and I eventually had to rewire it and change the jack, and it's worked great ever since, but I would still want a backup, just to get different sounds.

This was my first bass, and it was great to learn on because of it's easy playability. It also taught me a lot about guitar repair, and how to rig things quickly. However, I got a new bass, and I'm planning on getting new pickups for the Synsonics. Once I do that, I would use it as a backup bass, because the only real problem I had with it was the sound. I wouldn't buy another one, though.

I bought this bass for like $150, w/a gig bag. It was probably made in japan or something. Its about 10 years old. Its got 20 frets, 4 strings and a single split coil "P" pick-up(passive). Plywood body w/1 volume and 1 tone control, short scale bolt-on neck. Its got some ok tuners on it.
Sound

This bass is for beginers and beginers only. Sounds kinda brassy on low volume and on high volume real muddy tone, ok for rock and metal but thats it. Just use it to practice on, doesnt stay in tune very well.... would not hold up on stage.
Action, Fit, & Finish

I bought it used, so I dont know how well it was set up factory direct. but when I got it the action was about a 1/4 inch. Pick-ups needed some adjusting. The sound would have improved if the wood was harder and the finish was very cheap and easy to scatch. also the imput jack poped alot.

This bass wouldnt last for one song on stage or in the studio. The hardware has a nice chrome plating on, but despite this it still doesnt stay in tune. The finish will wear off quite quickly, as I have only played it for 3 months and its already starting to wear off. I've never even bothered with the truss rod since I threw it in the corner of my room and its been there ever since. I would never use this guitar on stage, let alone w/out a back-up. The only thing I would do on stage with this is smash it.

I've studied guitar for about 5 years and mainly play guitar, but I like playing bass too. I wish I had thought twice about buying this guitar and spent the money on an effects pedal or something. I'd be very upset if this bass was stolen, then I wouldnt be able to smash it on stage.
