Brand new Korean made Tokai Bass. It's a copy of the Gibson EB-3 sg style, so short scale (30inch) 20 frets, mahogany body with set neck with a beautiful cherry finish. There's a volume and tone control for each passive pickup (large humbucker at the nexk and mini humbucker at the bridge). Theres also a 3 way pu selectior.

Sound : 9
This is definitely a bass for classic rock playing, not slap style. Being a short scle the sound is very punchy Although the two pickups give a vide variety of tones but think about the late 60's/early 70's for the type of sounds on offer here. It suits for the type of sounds I'm looking for

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
No complaints other than the action is a little high, but thats easily sorted. As with all SG style guitars and basses it's neck heavy, but you knew that anyway! Everything else seems to be well fitted.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
It seems like a pretty rugged bass, dont see why it would not last/withstand gigging, pretty much any guitar should as long as it's looked after

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know about Tokai, but if I have any issues I will deal with the shop where I bought the bass

Overall Rating : 9
I'm more of a guitar player, but dabble with bass. I bought this due to the fact it's a short scale bass which i prefer, being a guitarist. Aside from paying huge money for a vintage Gibson theres not really any other way of getting hold of a short scale EB3. But, most everything suits me about this bass, definitely a keeper, a well kept secret of the Tokai catalogue
