Made early-mid '90s by Status for Trace Elliot. 4-string, J-bass style 4-string. 2 Hyperactive Status J-bass pickups. Controls: volume neck, volume bridge, treble cut/boost, bass cut/boost, active/passive switch. 24 frets, easy accessible battery compartment on the back.

In passive mode it sounds pretty much like a traditional J-bass. Note however, that the tone controls don't work until you go active; then they are extremely powerful, with a great range of sounds. Very well balanced across the neck and between strings.

Veeeeery comfortable, slim and fast neck. I got the bass used, so I can't comment on factory setup.

Haven't had any reason to contact, but I know Status carries spare parts for this bass.

Been playing bass since 1984. Play this bass thru an Eden rig, and this bass is a great allrounder, and a great option for those of us who want a J-bass with a little extra under the hood...I'd replace it if it were stolen, in fact I'm looking for another one.
