Model: Jay Jr. [body just smaller than a standard Jazz body]
Fit's a standard J. Pickguard
Made: 6/6/01
Materials: Two Piece swamp ash, with a great grain pattern.
Pickup route: Standard J. Bass [Bridge and neck]
Electronics route: Front Route

I gave this an 8, because while they currently have three body types,
they do offer any pickup and electronics route possible.

Style: Progressive, alternative, Funk and Finger Funk
The swamp ash really helped pop the bass out of the mix, without getting to honky [I play a fretless neck / also by USA Custom Guitars]

This body was a special from there oddities. [It was actually a left over from when they were starting the Jay Jr. body]
Great sanding job, with only two minor blemishes [that showed up when I started staining]
One was a rough stop in the neck pocket, so it was no consern. The other was a slight ding that picked up to much stain on the forearm rest.
Reliability/Durability
:
No Opinion
Not really any thing I can say here since I drilled the strap holes, and did the staining and finishing.
Seems like a good solid body.

The people at USA Custom Guitars are outstanding. I was so impressed by the body that I ended up getting a new neck from them as well. They were very helpful, pleasant, and very prompt. I knew right when the body would be in my greedy little hands.

How Long: 4 years
Gear [basses]I own a Jazz fretLess 4 string [made in 2000], Cort "Curt Curbow" model 4 string, and a Cort Artisan series 4 string fretless.
Gear [amps] SWR Mo'Bass & 4 or 5 assorted amps that I forgot about once I picked up the Mo'Bass
If this were stolen I would still go with the same company, I find their stuff outstanding. However, I would pony up 200-300 dollars and get a body that was particular to me. Like I said they offer a ton of options [including neck through] and I really had no idea of exactly what I wanted.
For the price this was a great start and I now know where I want to go with the next bass I put together.
