2 piece swamp ash body. Birdseye maple neck with ebony FB. Small 'vintage' frets. Batolini P/J pup config with 3 band active pre, that can be bypassed to passive master tone control.
I also used a Gotoh string through body bridge and Hipshot ultralite tuners.
It turned out to be reasonably light. About the same as my Spector. I consider that good for a Fender style bass. With the Hipshot Ultralites, the balance could not be better.

This bass has the greatest low E string I've ever had. Deep, authoritive and crystal clear. It's not boomy, and doesn't get muddy til near the 12th fret. I did not expect this from a bolt on Fender style bass. Good sustain. Fairly even response from top to bottom. No conspicuous dead spots.

The neck and body fit perfectly. No dings or blemishes.
Reliability/Durability

If you don't knock a tuner, this bass stays in tune practically forever. This seems like a good sign of it's overall stability.

Tommy is a great guy to deal with. Top notch.

I played for about 16 years professionaly until a finger injury. After a 12 year layoff, I needed a fretted bass!
Now I play for the fun of it. Mostly bop and post bop, with some blues based rock for variety.
Building a bass from parts requires a leap of faith. The bass turned out better than I hoped in just about every regard.
