It's a four string and has 20 frets. Solid top. Volume and tone knob that can reproduce just about any sound. Dual bass Humbucker at the bridge. Looks to be a Fender american series copie. Mahogany 4 bolt on neck with Alder body. Tobacco sunburst finish. bridge style is a copy of a Fender with easily adjustable settings. Non locking tuners that stay in tune very well. Fair size neck with shaved down frets. Bought used with a Dean Markley amp, tuner, cords, hardshell case for an excellent price.

It has very good sound but I want a 5 string with 24 frets and some tone knobs to play with. It's good for my style but I'd like more because I want to play Stu Hamm stuff. It's not noisy at all and has a very low end with clear highs. The bass can make just about any sound you want to make within 20 frets.

I would not know how the set up was at the factory cause it's used. I know the dual humbucker was set up nicely and give sounds from Johnny Cash style to Rex Brown style. The tone knob was falling off so I fixed it and that was about it.

Yes I found out after a while the guy I bought it from is some kind of savage and beats everything up but my bass withstood his torture and is bullitproof. Yes the hardware will last. The finish is like super thik laquer that takes a lickin and keeps on pickin (I just made that up ha, arent i cool).Yes strap buttons are solid, but the child inside me wants strap locks. You can depend on it but it needs to adjusted slightly.

Ive been playing about 4 months now. I wish I asked the serial numbers. Yes I would buy it again but only after a five string. Yes it seems very good compared to Greames crap Hamer Slammer. 24 frets is what I wish it had. It was an excellent deal.

4 String /Dual Humbuckers/Arch Top/semi-Hollow with f holes. I have no idea what the model is or when it was made. It has plastic pick-up shells that are "chrome" plated, a fully adustable bridge/32" scale with seperate volume/tone pots for each pick-up and a 3way selector switch.
This bass has a sticker on the back of the head that says simply "Made in Japan". It looks to be 30+ years old.

The semi-hollow boby gives this bass a softer sound which is perfect for the style of music I play (new Country and Jazz). The intonation is excellent all over the neck, and the tonal range I can get out of it when paired with my Fender Bassman is great. Lots of low end punch, not mushy, and no feedback problems.

Since the neck and bridge are fully adjustable (individual saddles etc.) the bass can be set-up for a very nice action. I don't dig in too hard and play mostly over the neck pick-up, so I have the action set very low with no buzz problems. The semi-hollow body also makes this a very light instrument. It weighs about the same as my Ibanez GB-10 Guitar. The neck, head, body are fully bound, pearl inlays for fret markers, decent quality chrome on the machine head covers and bridge cover. Comes with a useless string damper (removed) that puts too much pressure on the strings when engaged (pulls it WAY out of tune on the D-G strings. Looks like this was very well made. Very nice sunburst finish with good quality laminated neck.

This is my main gig bass, which is used on live gigs once/twice per week. No complaints at all. Lots of guys come up during breaks and ask me "what is that thing, it looks like a 335". I intend to keep using it as long as it stands up. Bandmates have commented on how much they like the sound I get, and not to trade/sell/replace it.

I have no idea how I'd get "factory" or dealer support for this thing. It's a simple bass with bolt-on neck and simple 4-pot tone/volume circuit so it shouldn't need too much in the way of support.

Like I said.. This is now my main gig bass. It's got a great sound and feel, light weight, and matches up very well tonally with my Bassman amp. I like playing older/more obscure instruments anyways, 'cause sometimes you find a gem that isn't well known. I am very happy with this bass. I have had a Precision and an old Hagstrom, and so far this suits me best. Value wise, I traded an old Fender Mustang guitar that was probably worth $100us (pretty rough shape - some original equipment missing etc.) so it has been a very good deal.
