i bought this new about 8 years ago it was the last one in the shop and i was told production had stopped on this model, basically it has a 24 fret bolt on neck with a brass nut, oh yeah and its a four string.
constructed for what looks like mahogany with a fantastic natural oiled finish, it has 1 volume, 1 3 way rotary pickup selector, 1 tone control and an active/passive switch.
the pickups are vesters own low niose model arranged in a jazz style configuration but slanted.
the shape is 'Unique' kind of pionty and curvy at the same time, the black version of this bass looks very metal but the natural has a bit more class about it. every other bass player i know wants this bass and i get complemented about it at every gig.
The neck is AWESOME, fast, slim, its a bit neck heavy but thats how i like them.

The highs are clean, the lows could be a bit thicker, but the mids are sublime in a live situation i effertlessly cut through the mix without stepping on anyone else's sonic boundries.
i did replace the neck pickup with a dimarzio to try to beef up the bottom end a bit which was an improvment, as this pickup seemed a little noisy at times.
i play prog metal which it suits down to the ground but i have used it for jazz, rock, soul and funk with excellent results all round.
this is a fantastic sounding bass for onstage but i rarely use it for recordings, im not quite sure why but i just never seem to get the best results with it in the studio.
rating for live alone would easily be a 9.5, for studio a 5.5.
Action, Fit, & Finish

when i got it there was a natural blemish in the wood(kind of an unusual dry looking patch near the tone pot)which got me 100 GBP of the list price of 400 GBP, but is not very noticable at all.
The neck join isn't perfect but it has never given me any problems.
the pickups and string settings were well adjusted for the beginning.
Reliability/Durability

Very reliable, i have used this bass almost everyday for the last 8 years, all the hardware is still in tip top condition, the finish is great(although with a couple of dinks through live tomfoolery), i have never needed to adjust the neck and the action is still perfect. there is a little freat wear which i am going to have to address soon but that is to be expected after all the use it has given me.

i have been playing for about 12 years and have used many amps but im currently using a bass pod with a chevin A1000 amplifier an a custom built Bi-amp cab 1x18 Bass and 1x12, 2x8 + horn for mid-top.
i have had many, many basses (including Zon, fender, musicman, warwick, spector, and lakland)this is the only one i would never part with. it may not have the best spec but it is a special bass that has never let me down and i would trade my left nut for another identical model(ive always wanted to experiment to make it perfect but im afraid i spoil it)
if this was lost, damaged or stolen i would be at a loss. few were made and i have only seen 1 other used one for sale in the last 6 or seven years. (in the UK)
