I own 2 Wal Mach II fretless Basses One is a 91 and the is a 93.
Both are great basses, they both have different personalities.
both are California Walnut tops. this thing I like about Wal is they are like Alembic in that they make everything for their basses except the machine heads. Their necks are great! They make the best fretless basses anywhere!!Their electronics are great.Open the back and there are more things to "teak" your sound with!!

I like every thing about these basses! I am a "hired Gun" if you will and I play all kinds of music.. thewe basses fill the bill all the time.. I ususally take 2 basses with em to each gig and fretted and a fretless... I will play the Wal 90% of the time, it fits into any situation I put it into. The tone controls are as on an Alembic bass,(which I have several). The Mach I,II and III basses have a 3 pin xlr connector in addition the 1/4" jack for going direct into a recording console.

I love the finish on them..I don't like glossy finishes, too many fingerprints..I ama bass tech.. all adjustments are great..I don't have to give it much attention..I have used it on gigs w/o a back up bass...

Electric Wood is in a transition period now. Currently they are not making basses, but hopefully they will be soon. I contacted them inthe early 90's about selling their basses in the USA, they were very friendly and helpful. At the time there were no USA dealers or distributors here.We decided not to carry the line at our store because of the import duties were so high at the time. I must say they were very good dealing with them at the time.

I have been playing for 44 years. I have to much gear to list here, I do have Fender;Music Man;Alembic;Modulus;Epiphone;Peavey;Danelectro basses.
as for amplification I have a large Acoustic bass amp collection.I alos have a Genz-Benz GBE 1200 and 2 Ampeg Portabass PB210H speakers and a lot of rack gear.
I primaiarly play fretless bass, mpost of my basse are fretless with the exception of the Alembics.Wal is the Fretless bass!!
I concur with the other post on the forum about the Mach II or any other Wal for that matter..
Four things I to would like to share all you other bass players:-
1. Don't run when carrying scissors.
2. Don't eat yellow snow.
3. Buy an acoustic bass guitar. I did last year, and my playing has improved immensely. Why, cause you can play while watching T.V. As I watch way too much T.V. that's good and you can play when in the toilet having a dump rather than reading a newspaper.
4. Buy a Wal bass or at least try one out.
