This bass was made in 2006. It is a neck thru with 4 strings (E strung through body), custom electronics (Audere 18V preamp),Pickups include bartolini fatboy (neck) and jazz (bridge). Controls are standard for The signature series with the exception of a Z-mode switch which was added when the Audere preamp was installed. Z-mode is freakin sweet! it gives you an amazing control over the tone, especially with the tone adjustments you can make with this instrument stock = pickup pan, gain, bass/treble, mid cut boost. The body wings are solid mahogany and are attached to a three piece mahogany/purpleheart/mahogany long scale neck, the fingerboard is said to be purpleheart but does not have that color or grain size. Active electronics. standard recessed straplocks, locking input jack. There is an ebony veneer on the headstock and the hardware is gold. The was made wide and the string spacing is 19mm. This bass was made for me.The gig bag has sufficed.
Sound

I am currently working in a funk/rock and (don't tell our agent) jam band. We play a bit like the sound you hear when you go out to a local joint in New Orleans. This bass is perfect for that. I can get a funky fat bottom end, or boost the mids for soloing. The body has a really mellow tone and with the D'addario bright super longs, I get a good balance. It is a studio bass and was built as such, but the desire has grabbed me to bring it on stage and it has blown every other bass I've played away with its tonal capacity. I won't even mention what it can do with the Z-mode switch, but let's just say it can make it powerful like going through a tube amp.
Action, Fit, & Finish

the action is tight and low. the most amazing thing about my warrior bass is how low the right hand action is. there is only bout a half an inch between the strings and the body, some like or don't like that but I love it, for slapping and popping it makes needing a "slap ramp" unnecessary to help with speed and precision. There was a single slightly noticeable flaw in the fingerboard at the twelfth fret, and I got huge discount because of it. Oh and the nut spacing was a little off, so I had that replaced by a local luthier (from which I will be getting my next custom instrument.) I cannot give it a perfect score because of that and the finish was uneven in a few spots along the back of the neck.

I have not had any problems, I have had this bass for many months and have never had to make anything but an initial bridge adjustment. I pamper it, treating the wood with Feed-n-Wax every time I change the strings, and that adds dimensions to the sound that deepend with each coating. The straplocks are recessed and have not pulled out. I have used it without a backup once because I had no choice, but I never gig without a backup if I can help it, which is either a warwick corvette or a Modulus genesis MT-5

I have not heard from them since I got this instrument, I ordered it third party and they were awesome, but the manufacturer has not returned any messages. I will continue to try, because I want a new COA, and to find out just what the warranty will cover. hopefully I do not have an issue with it before that point.

I have been pursueing perfectin as a bass player avidly for twelve years, and will play as long as I have hands and a beating heart (and can hear). I have played in many bands, had proffesional contracts (overrated I say) and have played jazz, funk, gospel, rock and even some experimental electrnica. I have owned warwick, carvin, modulus, tobias, MTD (where is the bottom end Mike?)and a variety of other brands. If it were stolen, I would cry, but then would claim it for almost thrice what I got it for on insurance because it is appraised at $3650, because of the few minor appearance issues with the bass I got it for $1400! except for the electronics it is a bare bones Warrior Signature. It has it where it counts though, playability and sound are mind blowing and by far the best Bass I've had the pleasure of playing, and aside from a few flaws looks amazing everyone has thier own likes and dislikes as far as a style and sound go, but for me this thing is a 9 (as I am sure there is better out there)
