This is a 2005 Warrior Signature, made at their luthier shop in Georgia. 27 frets, 3 piece mahogany/purpleheart neckthrough, swamp ash/chocolate quilt maple wings, black lace cocobolo neck with black block inlay, wood knobs that match the wings, bartolini soapbars w/18 volt pickup system, G-factor stringing system, Neutrik locking input jack, Anointed oil finish, custom case and straplocks.

I have been playing for almost 17 years, and have played many different styles of music such as rock, pop, funk, ska, reggae, and alternative. This bass can cover them all, and have tone to spare! I currently play with an Aguilar GA-500, Avatar B210 Kappa Pro, and Avatar B15H Kappa Pro. I've played this with an Ampeg 115 combo, a GK 400RB and a 210, an Ampeg Portabass 250 with 212 cab, and straight into a Tech 21 Sansamp Bass Driver into an Allen & Heath Mixwizard 3 board. In every instance, the bass was full of tone and lacking nothing! Very tight and focused lows due to the G-Factor stringing system, smooth and sparkly mids, and highs that are just right. I've played this on stage and in the studio, and it shines in both places quite well. I find nothing really to dislike.

I have a skin problem that does not allow me to keep callouses on my plucking fingers very well. The rep remembered this during the setup of my instrument, and had the finish guys adjust the bass with a low enough string tension at pitch that I can play freely without worry! I did tighten the truss rod a hair once I got it (they had loosened the strings and tension rod for shipping purposes at my request)but other than that, it was beautifully done from the factory. There were no finish flaws, all the frets were filed and fully dressed, the handcut nut was nicely filed and had no burrs, and all the controls, pickups, jacks, tuners, and straplocks were in perfect condition with no sloppyness to be found in their installation. The wood is all highly figured, and should be at 80+ years of age, and the marrying of the woods and shaping them together were all top notch craftsmanship.

this bass is made to be played. It's not a studio queen, nor does it want to be. The range of tones and the look of the bass beg for it to be out of the case and in your hands for the whole world to hear and see. The hardware is all professional grade, and the oil finish is great because even if you hit it against something, you don't have any laquer to crack or chip! No one will know the difference but you. I've also got the Warrior Care package, which lets me send my bass back to them twice a year for a complete 40 point inspection, cleaning, adjusting, and all around refurbishing, so it will last me the rest of my playing career. The strap locks are embedded in the upper bout and in the tail, so they're not coming out, unlike most basses that have screws coming out of strap buttons after a few weeks' hard gigging. I'd take this one on a gig without a backup any day. Just make sure it's got good batteries, and you're ready to go!

My rep was wonderful! He was first interested in me, and then in what I wanted in a bass. After hearing out my musical life story, and the look and sound I wanted, he suggested a bass to me that they had just finished 2 weeks beforehand, which is the one I now own. No offense to the gentleman that commented on this company before me, but they've got a 3 day return policy, so if it isn't right, they will make it right or give you your money back! I've got what I consider to be one of the best instruments around in my hands every day, and one of the friendliest companies backing it up. When I call, the rep knows me by name, not by number. He wants to know what's going on in my life before he wants to know why I called. Warrior takes interest in their customers, and they back that up biblically. I'm now part of the Warrior family as an artist, and very honored to be so!

Overall Rating : 9
I've played for almost 17 years.
I asked all the questions I needed to before purchasing this bass.
If it were stolen or lost, I would most definately purchase one again.
I love the overall tone and look! It fits my playing style, and can cover any sound I'd need as a gigging on-call bassist.
I do think that $4100.00 is an investment, but for those seeking to find a bass that they can use for the rest of their careers, this could be it!
I compared it to the Carvin, Pedulla, Steinberger, and Fenders I've owned, and to the Ibanez, Zon, Musicman, and Elrick basses I've tried. I chose this one because of the comprehensive range of tones, the overall look, and the backing of the company behind it.
I wish I had enough cash to buy a fretless version!
Warrior is a great company with a growing list of artists. They stand behind their work, and want you to be completely satisfied with their offering. Don't hesitate to call and chat with them!

This is a 2004 Warrior Signature 5 string with mahogany body, quilt maple top and mahogany neck through. The fingerboard is macassar ebony. Pickups are active Bartolini's, one fat boy and one jazz. Finish is in oil. I give it a 5 because of some sloppy workmanship; a fret marker on the 10th instead of the 9th which is highly unusual for "custom" expensive stuff.

Sound : 3
The sound is very average for such a high end bass. I've played plenty of cheaper basses that sound a lot thicker in the bottom end. The lows are a bit muddy and poorly defined. The highs and mids are crisp. This is not a versatile bass as far as the sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
Although the action is superior on this bass, the overall craftsmanship just isn't there. As I said earlier, there was a fret marker misplaced during construction which I believe the maker tried to slip by me. The maple top is beautiful and is the redeeming quality of the look.

Reliability/Durability : 7
The bass is sturdy and will last a long time.

I bought this bass after meeting guys from Warrior at a guitar show. They built me this custom bass at my request. The sales rep, Mark, is a smooth talker and will make lots of promises that he just won't keep in the end. I was very disappointed with the final product and the $3900 price tag attached to it. If you are interested in a high end bass, steer clear of these guys unless you can play and inspect the bass before you purchase it. I'd recommend an Elrick, F-Bass or Stambaugh if you want to spend this kind of bank. Even better, pick up a used Fodera. This bass just isn't in the same league as these others.

Overall Rating : 2
I've been playing bass for nearly 30 years and during that time owned just about every bass imaginable. I'm out of the "custom" market after an experience with these guys. I picked up a used Elrick Hybrid 5 and it simply blows the Warrior away and for half the money. The redeeming quality is the action and the look but that is as far as it goes. They make numerous references to Religion and Christianity in their literature but their ethics just don't reflect their advertising. An overall bad experience.
